Celebrating Women's History Month at Tulalip Gaming Organization 🌟 Meet Wendy Fryberg. Starting as a Cage Cashier at TGO, she climbed the ladder to various leadership roles. Her drive for growth led her to embrace challenges, earning a bachelor's degree and serving on the Marysville School Board. She honed her leadership skills as Executive Director and COO. Now, as the TGO Executive VP of Administration, she is grateful to give back by encouraging aspiring leaders. A proud of The Tulalip Tribes, she embraces the culture of growth and women leadership. In her own words: I began my career at the TGO in 1992 as a Cage Cashier and worked my way to Cage Manager and other leadership roles in Slots, Strategic Planning and Compliance. I have always been very motivated to grow and advance. I enjoy learning and being challenged. To expand my experience, I participated in Leadership Snohomish County. I was the first Native American woman to serve on the Marysville School Board. In 2012 I found myself searching for growth and development. After 20-years at TGO, I decided to follow another dream to work for Tribal Government to understand and contribute to the services provided to our community, funded by gaming revenue. Over 11 years I held executive leadership positions that included Executive Director, Managing Director and the Chief Operating Officer. My current position as the TGO Executive Vice President of Administration feels rewarding after many years of building my career. All those years of commitment have come full circle. I get to share my experience where I started. It is very fulfilling to be in a position where I can make a difference for other leaders with the same career goals. I will continue to encourage everyone to set the bar high for themselves. As a Tulalip tribal member I am forever grateful for our past leaders who had a vision for us to be the next leaders. I learned it is ok to feel uncertain. As long as I was willing to jump I always landed on my feet. My goal is to share my knowledge, encourage others to also follow their dreams and succeed in their career goals. The TGO’s culture has always been to grow from within.

Celebrating Women's History Month at Tulalip Gaming Organization 🌟 Meet Sharon Renecker, Assistant Executive Director—HR. With 32 years of service, Sharon's journey has been one of growth and development. Sharon emphasizes integrity, inclusion, and mentoring in her role, aiming to create a culture of respect and diversity. Grateful for the opportunities and relationships forged, she looks forward to nurturing future leaders and continuing her impactful work at TGO. In her own words: My name is Sharon Renecker. My legal adoptive parents, who are also my paternal grandparents, are Bernice (Shelton) and Earl “Moxy” Renecker. My biological parents are Betty Enick and James Renecker. My maternal grandparents are James Enick and Evelyn (Kanim) Enick. I've been employed with Tulalip since July 1992. I have been with TGO since 1995. My Human Resources career started at Tulalip Government. In 1994 I was detailed to Tulalip Bingo as their HR representative. We only had 5 Team Members in our Department. Today we have 25. I oversee the Team Member Relations Specialists and Appeals Coordinator. We facilitate the appeals process, conduct internal investigations, advise Team Members at all levels, assist leaders and Team Members with workplace situations, and write policies, procedures and internal correspondence. I came here still very new to Human Resources and was still very quiet and shy. My position required me to interact with all levels of Team Members. It forced me to come out of my shell, be assertive and communicate professionally. The integrity of processes and neutrality has been my focus—to develop processes and procedures that consistently protect our department and our Team Members. While still a focus, a lot of changes have occurred. I concentrate my efforts now on creating a culture of inclusion. We have so much diversity and talent. We want all of our Team Members to feel welcome and part of a Team. There is still more that we can do. There are always ways we can be better. I am fortunate and grateful for all these years with TGO, for the opportunities for growth and learning, and for the workplace relationships and friendships I’ve made along the way.

Belinda's journey reflects a commitment to learning and growth, with a focus on fostering future leaders. Grateful for mentorship and opportunities, she leads with integrity and looks forward to continuing to serve her community and team. In her own words: I was one of the original team members who opened the Tulalip Casino. I worked for TGA for eight years as a Tribal Gaming Agency Inspector/Chief Inspector/Deputy Director. While working in TGA, I attended years of essential in-state and out-of-state training in criminal justice, gaming regulation and gaming operations management. In 1995 I graduated from the WA State Criminal Justice Training Academy. In 2000, I came back to TGO as a Slot Operations Manager, Slot Engineer and advanced to QCCC Slot Director in 2013. In 2020 I expanded my leadership experience as the QCCC Executive Director of Operations. My professional growth and development opportunities reflect the culture and commitment fostered by our Tulalip leaders past and present. I am thankful to past TGO/TGA leaders who believed in me and for the exceptional industry partners and mentors who inspired me to make gaming my career choice. I am grateful to be in a leadership position where I can pass along my experience to future leaders. As each year passes, I strive to be a better version of myself, to lead by example and demonstrate integrity in all that I do. I look forward to serving my community, my team, and our guests for years to come.

Celebrating Women's History Month at Tulalip Gaming Organization 🌟 Meet Marci Fryberg, President of TGO and a dedicated leader with 37 years of service. Overcoming challenges, she advanced from a Food Server to Executive Management, specializing in casino operations. As President, Marci manages TGO properties, leads a team of 2,300 , and aims for growth and excellence while fostering leadership and community support. Her journey inspires education, sobriety, and empowerment, honoring the resilience of Native women before her. In her own words: I am a proud member of The Tulalip Tribes and have worked for Tulalip’s Gaming Organization since 1986. I have assumed progressively responsible positions within TGO. My first job was in our Bingo Deli as a Food Server/Cashier before accepting a job as a Table Games Dealer when our casino opened in 1992. This job helped me increase my wages as a single mother and was one of my favorite positions. Executive Management chose me as a candidate for succession planning. In 1995 I entered executive management as a Casino Co-Manager. I attended the Casino Management Certification Program at the UNLV. This program gave me greater understanding of the structure of casino operations and our regulatory environment. As Tulalip expanded, I advanced to Casino Assistant General Manager and Executive Vice President of Gaming Operations, while also being the Acting COO/President. I served in these roles for 23 years. To enhance my leadership capacity, I pursued higher education and received a BA in Business and a Master’s in Human Services Administration. As a Native American woman in leadership, I hold myself accountable for being a strong example to our TGO workforce and my tribal community. I empathize with those who suffer with substance abuse issues (I have 18 years of sobriety) and continue to support individuals trying to find their way to recovery. I am a daughter, sister, niece, cousin, mother, auntie and friend. I carry the resilience and strength of the Native women who came before me who did not have the opportunity to overcome their trauma before leaving this world. Every day, I show up with purpose in honor of them all…
