Updates

  • EMA issued a statement in support of Senate leaders’ request that Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm prioritize infrastructure development for medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles to achieve a successful transition to zero-emissions fleets and support climate goals. EMA President Jed R. Mandel said, “Truck and Engine Manufacturers Association members are continuing to produce and deploy medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) that meet the needs of consumers and businesses while also helping to achieve clean air and public health goals. Our industry has invested billions of dollars to bring the cleanest and most innovative engine technologies to market, but the widespread adoption of commercial ZEVs hinges on building the nationwide battery-charging and hydrogen-fueling infrastructures capable of powering those vehicles. We join the Senators in urging the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation to accelerate the development of the heavy-duty infrastructures that are essential to achieving the Biden Administration’s clean air and public health goals.” Read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/e5mibdJy

  • Today, EMA and California Air Resources Board announced a historic partnership that includes agreements to allow necessary flexibility for manufacturers to meet emission requirements that still maintain California’s reduction goals.    EMA and its members are committed to achieving a zero-emission commercial vehicle future and collaborating with stakeholders like CARB to reach our shared clean air goals. We look forward to continuing to work constructively with CARB on future regulatory and infrastructure efforts designed to support a successful transition to ZEVs.    Read more about the agreement: https://lnkd.in/eCwgHsMX
