The Trinitas Foundation recently received a $25,000 award from the Jewish Women’s Foundation of New Jersey for its Breast Cancer Services for Impoverished Women Project. This grant will strengthen the hospital’s support for local, underserved women who are undergoing breast cancer treatment at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility. The donation came directly from JWF membership and will cover lymphedema and mastectomy products, food cards, office visits, surgeries and/or co-payments for impoverished, uninsured and severely underinsured women. “Out-of-pocket payments and co-payments are completely unaffordable for these women, who routinely face food and housing insecurity even before their cancer journeys begins,” says Laura Ciraco, Vice President, Development. “The fact that the wonderful women of the JWF pooled their own money to help our breast cancer patients has truly touched our hearts! This grant will eliminate the critical gaps that prevent impoverished women from obtaining products and services that are critical to their treatment, recuperation efforts and comfort.” To learn more or to assist Trinitas’ breast cancer patients, visit rwjbh.org/trinitasgiving
