Have you ever wondered "What's the Deal with Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)?" Last week, Laurel Shulman and Joshua McLean co-hosted "What's the Deal with #DAFs?" on behalf of Triangle Community Foundation, an event aiming to educate discretionary grantees about donor-advised funds (DAFs). Foundation President and CEO Lori O'Keefe led an engaging discussion with six fundholders who candidly shared their goals, aspirations, and experiences using DAFs in their philanthropic journeys. Huge thanks to North Carolina Central University for allowing us to use their space!

Staff, fundholders, and friends joined Partners for Environmental Justice's (PEJ) George Jones at Walnut Creek Wetland Center in Raleigh. They learned about PEJ’s efforts to protect the wetland, mitigate flooding, and clean up debris in Southeast Raleigh’s historically Black neighborhoods. Participants explored the 52-acre natural wetland and green stormwater infrastructure, and enjoyed Derrick Beasley’s new art installation (https://lnkd.in/evaxtHGq). We love connecting donors and nonprofits and we hope you’ll join us on a future site visit!

As we near #Juneteenth, we've compiled a list of events in the Triangle throughout the next few weeks to honor the historic day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in the U.S. learned of their freedom. We invite you to support and attend local Juneteenth events around the Triangle: https://lnkd.in/e5Fhu3H4
