It’s National Sugar Cookie Day, and we would be remiss not to celebrate our delicious Lofthouse cookies. These soft, frosted cookies have been a customer favorite for almost 30 years! Lofthouse Cookies was founded in 1994 by the Stone Family. They began selling their cookies to consumers in local convenience stores. The cookies’ popularity grew, and in 1997, manufacturing facilities were added in Ogden and Clearfield, Utah. TreeHouse Foods acquired the Lofthouse brand in 2016 and has continued to delight customers with traditional frosted sugar cookies as well as popular seasonal flavors like Key Lime, S’mores and Cookies and Cream. Our Carrollton, Texas, facility is committed to making incredible products and investing in its team. “We’ve made an effort to invest in individuals, so they understand that there are opportunities to grow at our facility,” shared Michelle Stephens, HR Manager at Carrollton. Our dedicated employees are the backbone of our Chicago pickle facility. Nearly 40% of the full-time employees have been with the facility for more than 20 years, and several will reach their 40-year anniversaries in 2025! Additionally, many employees have enjoyed professional growth and new opportunities during their time at our Chicago facility. “Out of the 10 of us on the Steering Committee (at our Chicago facility), six started in different positions within TreeHouse Foods. They were promoted or transitioned into their current roles,” said Javaun Price, TreeHouse Foods Chicago Plant Manager. Meet Alma Mercado, the training coordinator at our Green Bay, Wisconsin, facility. She has worked for TreeHouse Foods for more than 10 years, transitioning from a seasonal employee to a line leader to her current role as a training coordinator. "I like to work with people, and I like to help,” said Alma. “Training and teaching are ways to help people. We are helping people do their jobs correctly and, most importantly, safely." Our Delta, British Columbia, facility co-manufactures teas for our customers, so it’s only fitting we celebrate International Tea Day!
