We are proud to partner with the AmeriCorps co-op program at Drexel University. Our co-op students gain valuable skills that will benefit them in their future careers. “My participation in this program has helped me develop professional skills including professional communication, collaboration, and time management. Transition Pathways has allowed me to build a foundation of skills and experience by which I hope to launch my career,” said Samia, one of our co-op students who just graduated with her degree in public health. Congratulations, Samia, and thank you for your kindness, passion, and hard work! Read more about Samia’s experience here. Peer mentorship is a key component to the future success of these neurodivergent adults participating in Project Career Launch. Thank you Ebube Wobo and all of our amazing peer mentors who help make a huge impact on our students! Drexel University , Drexel University Lindy Center for Civic Engagement
🌟 Reflecting on an Incredible Journey 🌟 Up until this month, I had the honor of serving as a peer mentor at the AJ Drexel Autism Institute for their Project career launch , where I mentored Philadelphia's young adults with autism. This role allowed me to guide them through the complexities of the career world, practice interview skills, enhance social abilities, and strive for overall personal growth. Being a part of this initiative was an incredible opportunity for me as advocacy for neurodiversity has always been close to my heart. Witnessing the progress and achievements of these amazing young adults has been truly heartwarming and fulfilling. I am deeply grateful to Elena G. Marta M.S. for including me in the Drexel Project Career Launch family. Your dedication and passion have been inspiring, and it has been a privilege to work alongside you and I hope to return in future! On June 12th, we celebrated a significant milestone with a graduation ceremony for our students/peers. This event marked the beginning of their exciting journey into future career paths. Seeing their smiles and hearing their dreams reaffirmed the importance of our work and the impact it has on their lives. To all the students, your perseverance and growth are commendable. I am confident that you will achieve great things and continue to break barriers. #Inclusion #Neurodiversity #AutismAdvocacy #Mentorship #CareerLaunch

Congratulations to our Project Career Launch students Leila, Semaj, and Carlos for completing the Manufacturing Career Accelerator program at Drexel University! This program equipped them with the skills and certifications to kick-start their careers in the advanced manufacturing industry. Notably, they earned Osha 10 and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certifications. "I know that I want to work with machines, repairing them or operating them. What I have learned from MCAP will help me down the line in manufacturing jobs." Semaj shared.
