MagicSchool AI, led by Adeel Khan (TF11), has announced its $15M Series A! The leading generative AI tool in K-12 education, Denver-based MagicSchool AI has onboarded over 2 million teachers on its platform in less than a year since its inception! More than 3,000 schools and districts today use its products to plan lessons, write tests, and produce other learning materials. An educator, Teach For America Fellow, and former school leader himself, Adeel began his journey as a founder by building simple AI tools that would have helped him in the classroom. As these tools struck a chord, Adeel helped bring together a fast growing community of educators looking to introduce Gen AI into their workflows. “We’ve always believed that Teachers are Magic, not the AI. An educator who is trusted, empowered, and has great relationships with their students - that’s when magic happens.” Today MagicSchool provides a suite of generative AI tools not just for educators but also students! Their new MagicSchool for Students platform, puts the power of AI in the hands of educators and allow them to build and customize AI tools for their students. Their Series A round was led by Bain Capital Ventures and saw participation from Range Ventures, Adobe Ventures, Common Sense Media, Embedding VC, and several notable experts in education, AI, and the future of work. This funding round follows their pre-seed round raised less than a year ago, in which Transcend Fund invested, alongside many of our trusted LPs and co-investors! MagicSchool hopes to continue addressing big challenges in schools right now for students like supporting language learning, adaptive 1:1 tutoring, differentiating instruction, just-in-time support for students, and more - all with the hope to realize a more engaging education system for students. “With educators at the forefront of this technological change, we have a once in a generation opportunity to transform the educational system for the better. MagicSchool is here to stay - and I couldn’t be more optimistic about the future.” - Adeel Khan We are super proud of Adeel and congratulate the team on this incredible milestone! 🙌 Full article here: ➡ https://lnkd.in/ezXjY7R2

It is the last day to apply for the Transcend Fellowship!! Over 6 weeks, our upcoming TF14 fellows will ⬇ 1️⃣ Run weekly PMF experiments ➡ Founders’ #1 priority should be to find product-market fit at the earliest stages. At Transcend we believe weekly customer-focused experimentation is super necessary for this! Our last cohort, for instance, ran 500 experiments in aggregate over just 5 weeks (yes, we track this)! 2️⃣ Get 1:1 coaching from an exited founder who has experience building in your domain. ➡ To hold you accountable and provide qualified guidance, we match founders with PMF coaches who meet with our fellows every week, help them drive PMF traction and run customer experiments. Here are some of our PMF coaches we announced this week and their domains: K-12 👉 https://lnkd.in/dhsWZ3yB D2C Edtech 👉 https://lnkd.in/dJ4_9_VQ Workforce Ed 👉 https://lnkd.in/d6yG3Z-7 3️⃣ Get matched with successful mentors (founders, angel investors and customers) through our Mentor Jams ➡ Most founders want to run experiments that unlock traction & growth but don’t have the proper guidance to do it. This is why we host Mentor Jams that allow our fellows to interact with our community of industry leaders who bring years of experience building and investing in Edtech! If this all sounds like what you want to be involved doing as the fall term approaches, submit your application today to be a part of our TF14 cohort! 📢 Link to apply ➡ https://lnkd.in/gJqaMgjW We close applications at 11:59 pm PT today 📅

5 Transcend Fellows this year are running companies focused on upskilling and workforce education! From simulated training programs for entry & mid-level managers, to bootcamps focused on digital and AI upskilling, founders globally are building innovative solutions to empower learners & workers with practical pathways to career success. Here are some Transcend Fellows we’ve worked with this year who are addressing workforce education👇 ➡️ Arnobio Morelix - Sirius Education: AI-focused university helping LATAM professionals get global remote jobs ➡️ Martha Belden - CREZCO.io: a solution to train and certify your operational teams via WhatsApp ➡️ Manish Poduval - OpenBootcamp: learn tech skills and become job ready at 1% the cost of most bootcamps. ➡️ James Mallett - Beeline: streamlines the process of creating and running a digital or blended training academy The job market today is evolving faster than ever, not just for new graduates but also seasoned employees with years of experience. Where traditional colleges fall short, low-cost & effective alternatives such as simulated work environments, learning communities, bootcamps or mentorship programs represent a viable alternative for learners. As a founder, it is more important than ever to not just align your programs with in-demand employment skills but also address the career interests of students and workers who are increasingly looking for tangible outcomes. To help founders address such challenges, we match them with David Fu, our go-to Workforce & Upskilling Coach!
