In partnership with the City of Elk Grove, we recently planned and delivered the Cycle Quest Adventure Ride, a hands-on bike safety experience along the Laguna Creek Trail. Children and their caregivers practiced key skills, including helmet fitting, the ABC Quick Check, trail etiquette, and route planning. In a step toward greater inclusion, all of our Cycle Quest resources—activity books, videos, and maps—are available in Spanish, ensuring Spanish-speaking families could fully participate. We’re proud to help more families feel safe and empowered as they bike, walk, and roll through their neighborhoods. A special shoutout to Sara Schooley and the team for making this event not only impactful but a total blast! Learn more about Cycle Quest here: https://lnkd.in/gZmDRdA9

There’s nothing like gathering our teams from across the United States to connect in person, share ideas, grow as one company—and enjoy a little friendly competition! 🚴✨ Last week, our South Region team met in Austin to explore our built work on foot and bike, participate in charrettes, and experience the vibrant local community. And in Silver Spring, staff from various offices joined our annual Fall Gathering. Despite the rain, we enjoyed a group bike ride and a lively cornhole tournament (congrats, Tina and Ayende! 🏆). Swipe through to see the highlights and the fun we had!

Congrats to Kansas for being named the Most Improved State in the Safe Routes Partnership’s Making Strides report! Our project team has been working with Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) to relaunch its Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program, administer SRTS planning and programming grants, and develop SRTS plans for communities throughout the state. In 2024 alone, five cities have completed a SRTS plan, covering education and encouragement campaigns to infrastructure recommendations drawn from walk audit observations. We're proud to support these efforts to help more Kansas students and families walk, bike, and roll safely to school. Learn more about KDOT's SRTS Program: https://lnkd.in/gnYYFUyF

What a great experience for our South Region team! 🎉 There’s nothing like gathering in person, exchanging ideas, and seeing the impact of our work firsthand.
Too many photos and stories to tell after a few days with staff from across Toole Design Group’s South Region. Meeting up in the City of Austin gave us the opportunity to not only learn from each other but to experience the incredible work that is making walking, rolling, and bicycling safe, accessible, and convenient. I am so proud of our local team as they have partnered with the City to design and construct projects quickly so they can make a difference. While it is rare that our team is able to meet in person, our time collaborating sparked creativity, grew relationships, and was a lot of fun. It really is amazing to work with so many passionate and talented people!

September 16-20 is #TDMWeek! Our team has been collaborating with Chittenden County, Vermont, to create a forward-thinking playbook for transportation demand management (TDM) strategies. By assessing the region’s current needs and unique growth patterns, we're developing an actionable plan to transform the local transportation system, including: 🚗 Increasing telework share by 50% 🚴♂️ Doubling walking and biking trips 🚌 Tripling transit service This project is one example of our efforts to empower communities to embrace walking, biking, and transit as everyday transportation options.
