  • We are excited to announce that Yeb Raven (they) will be joining the TMWIHC team as a Clinical Counselor. Yeb Raven (they) is a parent and an Associate Clinical Counselor with a concentration in Drama Therapy and Eco-Psychology. Drama Therapy is a creative way of using theater techniques (including movement, music, and visual arts) to heal and grow. Eco-Psychology focuses on our healing relationship with nature. Yeb is honored to serve the Me-Wuk Tribe of the Sierra’s and is inspired to work with anyone interested in learning how to overcome struggles and build personal resilience for a more fulfilling and connected life for themselves and loved ones of all ages, abilities, faiths, cultural backgrounds, histories as well as couples and families.  Nourished by the natural world, Yeb loves hiking, swimming, and snow play with their family and friends. Games and movies are central to time together at home too, particularly collaborative Role Play Tabletop games. Yeb’s a singer/song writer, currently working on a book and loves reading and learning about other people, cultures, places, and ideas. Message to Patients: "Michuksus" (Greetings), Me-Wuk Tribal wisdom teaches us, "Oma: Kenge:mu' Huy'uk:uton." (Together, forever, we learn). It can be difficult to be human but also joyful. I'm here to walk the path of learning resilience with you through connection and healing so that you and your loved ones can feel well and free to be yourselves and be together; so that you can meet life joyfully in a way that feels truest to you. I am not of Native Me-Wuk ancestry; however, I deeply relate with wisdom they so generously offer our community. It would be my privilege to support you on your journey to your best health and support your MeWuYa (family) "today, tomorrow, and for generations to come." With respect and care, Yeb Raven (they)

  • We are excited to announce a new team member, Kim Thurman, LMFT!! Here is what Kim has to say: "Hello! My name is Kimberly Thurman and I am excited to be a part of the Tuolumne Me-Wuk Health Center family! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and will be working out of MEWU-YA. In my profession I have over 10 years' experience working with various populations from severe and chronic inpatient to foster youth outpatient. The majority of my experience has been working as a crisis responder within the community, in the correctional settings, probation, and with foster youth. I specialize in trauma focused modalities; I also have several years of experience working with personality disorders and substance use disorders.  In my personal life I enjoy various outdoor activities. I love playing and watching sports (Baseball, Softball, Football, and MMA). I love hiking, running, and any type of fitness/wellness activities. The best type of self-care to me is being in nature and appreciating what grandmother earth has blessed us with. I am very excited to be a part of this community, and I am very eager to learn and embrace the Me-Wuk culture and values!"

  • Please join us in celebrating Christie, who has been a stellar team member for fifteen years this month! Here is what Christie had to say about working with the Tuolumne Me Wuk Indian Health Center: "It is hard to believe that it has been 15 years. So much has happened during this time, so many milestones in my life. I am grateful for the opportunity to gain experience both personally and professionally here at Tuolumne Me-Wuk Indian Health Center. It has been a journey filled with challenges, triumphs, and invaluable learning experiences. I have seen a lot of changes over the years, but one thing remains the same and that is the commitment by all to ensure our patients are getting the highest quality and comprehensive care they deserve. I want to express my sincere appreciation to the tribe, administration and revenue cycle staff for their support, and belief in my abilities. I am honored to be a part of this amazing team and look forward to more years of collaboration and success together. I am committed to continuing the mission, vision, and values of the Tuolumne Me-Wuk Indian Health Center."
