Thank you to our Junior Auxiliary Board for supporting the TidalHealth Foundation's Brooke’s Toy Closet’s Holiday in July Toy Drive. Stop by the Junior Board Gift Shop located within our Salisbury hospital to purchase a toy (or two or three!) to donate to Brooke's Toy Closet to bring a smile to our youngest patients.

The TidalHealth Foundation thanks the Eastern Shore of Maryland Sickle Cell Disease Association, Megan Stafford of 3 East Oncology at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional, and Joy Ault of Salisbury for supporting Brooke’s Toy Closet in June 2024. Each of our June donations has a unique backstory! The Eastern Shore of Maryland Sickle Cell Disease Association hosted a golf tournament in June to benefit Brooke’s Toy Closet. Megan Stafford, a nurse from the 3 East Oncology unit at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional, donated her collection of Squishmallows which were all brand new with tags! Last but not least, Joy Ault, a young Salisbury resident, requested donations for Brooke’s Toy Closet instead of gifts for her birthday this year after being in the hospital and visiting Brooke’s Toy Closet herself. To learn more about this program and how you can donate, visit tidalhealth.org/toycloset or contact the TidalHealth Foundation at [email protected] or 410-543-7140.

On June 18, we gathered on the South Deck of The Embers Restaurant to celebrate the public launch of the TidalHealth Foundation's Drive for Mobile Mammography, a fundraising campaign to bring mobile breast cancer screenings to our community. Thanks to all those who made the evening a resounding success! Together, we raised over $55,000 in one night to benefit Mobile Mammography. To learn more, visit https://lnkd.in/ep_zRyaX.

Brooke’s Toy Closet is a program at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and TidalHealth Nanticoke that provides new toys to children in the Emergency Departments and Pediatric Units that the children get to keep and take home upon discharge. The program was named in honor of Brooke Mulford, a young girl who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer, in 2009 at the tender age of 4 years old. After a valiant battle, she passed away in June 2017. Brooke had a vision to give toys to kids in the hospital to make their time there a little easier, and that vision is what sparked the creation of Brooke's Toy Closet. Both of our toy closets are in dire need of toys. To learn how you can donate or purchase directly from our Amazon wishlist, visit tidalhealth.org/toycloset. You can also help by sharing this post and spreading the word about this program. Thank you!
