Me the first week of October........ The Young Ones is officially open for entries! Enter now https://youngones.org/ Let’s talk about last year’s standout winner for Young Guns ADC in film and craft from Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg—Stella the Moth. Picture this: Stella delivers electronics. It’s a tough gig, especially with her strange clients, but this final one of the day is extra odd… The team behind this spec spot chose LG OLED evo TV for its super bright, lifelike display, perfect for a vampire-inspired storyline. The stop-motion masterpiece, Delivery for Mr. Frogula, took 6 weeks of intense work in the studio—and the results? Totally worth it. Director Vanessa Stachel brought every detail to life with stop-motion magic, tight teamwork, and even acting out references for the animators. Stop-motion may be tough, but the reward is next-level!

Co-Founder, COLLINS: SF/NYC, D&AD Design Company of the Year, AdAge Business Transformation Agency of The Year, Design Agency of the Year, Fast Company Best in Design, President / The Art Directors Club

I am a mad, mad child of the Space Age. At nine, I only, only, only lived on distant planets in far-flung solar systems and starships. I inhaled them all through stories, books, television and films, including my favorite, 2001: A Space Odyssey. And while the children of my generation were being inspired by bright promises of tomorrow made by celebrated science-fiction writers, artists and producers, older generations of scientists and engineers at the Jet Propulsion Lab and NASA were hard at work making the conquest of space real “for all mankind” - as it says on Apollo 11's lunar module we left behind on the moon. But back then, surrounded by the latest science and technology – and deeply inspired by the sleek mid-century modernism of my space toys and games, I felt that the famous blue NASA "meatball" logo looked like a WWII Air Force patch. Something for GI Joe, not for the astronauts. It spoke more to the past than to the future. Yet, I loved it. I begged my Aunt Eileen to sew one on my jacket in the 3rd grade. But then, when I was 13, suddenly everything changed. I witnessed the rollout of the Space Shuttle “Enterprise," named after the spaceship from the TV show, Star Trek. And there it was. For the first time. On the side of the brilliant white spacecraft was Richard Danne's new, bold, red minimal and aggressively modernist NASA logo, emblazoned proudly on the fuselage. It was as if he had taken the United States' collective vision for our dreams for outer space and crystallized it, making it real through graphic design. Dazzled by an artist's ability to visualize tomorrow before it arrived, my decision to be a designer was instantly reaffirmed. Decades later, I finally met my hero in San Francisco only to discover Richard had once lived near Camp COLLINS on Cape Cod. In fact, he is visiting us here in Woods Hole, this fall. But best of all? I am honored to introduce Richard next week at the launch of his remarkable new book "Shooting for the Stars" in New York City. The One Club for Creatity 450 West 31st Street Wednesday, October 9 6:00 PM We will showcase Richard's captivating celebration of his six-decade career in design. Beyond his bold work for NASA, his design systems for organizations like Paramount, FIT and AT&T, have made a lasting impact on visual culture. As a pioneer of modernist design and a former president of AIGA, Danne has been a visionary leader, advocating for the power of design and mentoring future generations. So come meet Richard. And explore design through his remarkable lens. (A limited number of copies of his book be available for purchase that evening. ) Reservations are here: https://lnkd.in/efXWxYRC It is selling out. Move fast. I am blessed that Richard and I have developed a friendship. And while our careers span across two generations, we both still look up at the stars. And 50 years later, that logo looks better than ever. .

Talent Acquisition Manager at Publicis Media, DEI Leader

Last Friday, I had an amazing opportunity of representing #PublicisGroupe at the Where Are All The Black People (WAATBP) networking event alongside my colleagues Lauren Branstetter and Eduardo Alvarez. Together, we engaged with early career talents looking to join the advertising industry and connected with established professionals from diverse backgrounds. It was inspiring to hear everyone's story, aspirations, and dedication to career advancement. A special shoutout to The One Club for Creativity and Adrienne L. Lucas, J.D. for organizing this event and providing a platform for Black excellence, innovation, and representation. Thank you for fostering spaces that celebrate diversity and empower professionals to thrive. Looking forward to furthering these wonderful connections we made! #PowerofOne #PublicisGroupe #WhereAreAllTheBlackPeople #DiversityandInclusion #TalentEngagement #Networking

  • The thing about the freelancer playbook is that there is no freelancer playbook. For the most part, we’re all just making it up as we go along. That’s why The One Club for Creativity is teaming up with veteran freelancers to present Freelancer Connect, our first-ever conference for creatives who — by choice or necessity — have started their own businesses, with their talent and experience as the product they’re selling.   Join us at the One Club Gallery on January 17–18 for two full days of helpful tips and tricks from those who have successfully gone down this road before you. You’ll hear from agency and brand-side creative leaders who hire freelancers for larger projects, from recruiters who are always looking to add talent to their proverbial Rolodex, and even from self-employment tax professionals who will help you keep your finances as impressive as your portfolio. https://bit.ly/3BqPxZM

    Brand at Delta Air Lines

This week, I attended The One Club for Creativity's Where Are All The Black People event in NY, and was blown away to see an entire generation of young black creatives doing what they know best: connecting with people, sharing their portfolios, their inclusive, welcoming and joyful vision of the world, and, of course, Tik Toks (best part!). At Delta Air Lines, we love connecting people to anything and anyone that matters to them, but mostly, to their potential. As the presenting partner of the event, our brand enabled many different connections to inspire these young talented people to keep dreaming, creating and climbing. Congratulations to all brief hackathon winners, thanks to the creators who covered the event (y'all know who you are since we are now connected) and shout out to the dream team working relentlessly to make this happen: Ryanna Beckham and Taniya Paylor who captained all things Delta ,Sharita Frazier, Valencia King, Brittany Snow and Ayana Noble for making us look and sound beautiful, Heather Howdeshell Morlock for always holding hands in everything we do, Josie Sturkey for being left and right hands for the entire squad, Maya Dukes for championing the vision that brought us here and to Nathan Smith for always being a place we can always come to for support, guidance and energy. And it got better: the one and only Andersen Cupid and Nik Reed joined Sharita, Tan and Brittany Gilzene, MBA (thanks for moderating!) in the "Very Mindful And Always Demure" panel that shared their vision and experiences navigating predominantly white corporate spaces. I've learned a lot and got emotional by hearing audience's needs, concerns and hopes. To the team at The One Club for Creativity: Yash Egami, Adrienne L. Lucas, J.D., Molly Crossin and everyone that made this event come to life: you should be proud about the work you do - saying it's purposeful and crafted with excellence is an understatement. Thanks for having Delta and our teams!
