The Next IT Girl
Information Technology & Services
Technology education nonprofit introducing young Black women to multidisciplinary programs to pursue a career in tech.
About us
The Next IT Girl helps close the gender and racial gap by providing technical workshops, mentorship, and career readiness for young women of color ages 8-22 who are interested in pursuing a technology career. One of the most exciting things about the technology field is how many different careers you can explore. From data science to networking, mobile app design to software development, cloud computing to cyber-security, the only limit is your imagination. That’s why The Next IT Girl teaches young women about all aspects of computer science and information technology— not solely coding.

🎉 Happy Juneteenth! Today, we celebrate freedom, unity, and resilience. Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. It's a time to reflect on our history, honor those who fought for justice, and continue the journey toward equality for all. Let's embrace the spirit of Juneteenth with joy and commitment to a future where every voice is heard and every person is valued. ✊🏿 #Juneteenth #EmancipationCelebration #BlackHistoryMatters #Blackintech #BlackHistory #TheNextITGirl

Sadly the end of EdCon24 CYBER.ORG but happy to all the new connections I made. It was empowering to share the same synergies in the work to help our youth. To say I learned just about cybersecurity, is such a understatement. 1. I learned the crucial need for cybersecurity. ESPECIALLY for women and people of color. There are so many threats in our own backyard. 2. I was able to explore interactive senarios and was able to apply what I learned in the breakout sessions. 3. I had the opportunity to talk with teachers and get their feedback on what works in their classroom. 4. In addition to all this, I was also able to get direction in how I could enter into the cyber world. Thank you Indiana Youth Institute for my professional development grant, and thank you to The Next IT Girl for your support in this journey as well. #Diversitymatters #EdCon24 #ITGirl #Teachersrock #Cyber
