Just got back from our 3rd Annual Executive Offsite in Toronto and I’m still unpacking all the learnings.
We do a lot of events. But these small, focused offsites are really magical. Here's our formula:
1. Intimacy: Limited to 50 members and 4-6 sponsors. Big enough for a broad diversity of experience yet small enough to meet and build relationships with everyone.
2. Format: A mix of main stage content, curated small-group breakout discussions, multiple meals, and active social time. Learn, have fun, and make lasting connections in a variety of formats.
3. Immersive: 2.5 days away from the office in a destination location, which allows you to really be present instead of dipping in and out. We’ve done Maui, Dove Mountain (AZ), and now Toronto. Where should next year be?
4. Curation: Each offsite is designed for a specific demographic, which keeps content and networking extremely tight. This one is for senior leaders, and we have others focused by industry (Crypto, FinTech, Digital Health, SaaS) and type of company (pub cos, VC funds).
Each one somehow feels like it’s better than the last.
Huge props to Eric Whitaker and Stephanie Adamson King for co-chairing this year. They pulled together an incredible lineup of content and speakers: Adam Lesman, Alan Smith, Danielle Sheer, David Peinsipp, Dina Segal, Jason Knapp, Kenneth Siegel, Louie Pastor, Lydia Cheuk, Megan Niedermeyer, Sarah Weatherhead, Shana Neiditch, Shawn Atkinson, and Thomas Chow. Heavy hitters, all of them.
And a special thank you to this year’s sponsors: Cooley LLP, Fenwick & West, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. We only invite the best of the best.
Have you been to an L Suite offsite yet? What’s your experience been?
