Leadership in action! Thank you Allison Huss, Aubrey Price and Megan Poliquin for your commitment to creating hope and recovery! #zepfcenterstrong #traumainformed #hopebeginshere
Wanted to give a shout out to Allison Huss and Aubrey Price for all of the hard work they’ve done this year in the Gambling Treatment Program at Zepf Center! (AKA, I want to brag about my team!) This year, Allison got her LICDC license, her renewable GAMB license, and in April celebrated her 1-year anniversary of being a gambling treatment counselor. This year, Aubrey completed an internship at Zepf Center, graduated with her BSW, and in May decided to join us as a gambling treatment counselor! She has also started her Master’s degree in Social Work and is almost finished with the GAMB stages trainings. Building the gambling treatment workforce is incredibly important to me, and I can’t begin to explain how proud I am of these two, so a LinkedIn post will just have to do. They both jumped in feet-first to the world of gambling treatment, and they are absolutely rocking it. I am learning so much from them. They took a leap of faith and believed me when I said, “you’re really gonna like this job, just trust me!” Yesterday, we sat down together and completed our reporting outcomes for the FY 2024 year. We met or exceeded all of our target outcomes! We talked about our hopes for the program, how we want to keep growing in our profession, and what our goals for the FY 2025 year will be. Stay tuned!

Zepf Center believes in growing our talent from within the organization. We are so proud of your commitment to growth and change Megan Poliquin! Thank you Steven Kapela for coaching Megan! #traumainformed #hopebeginshere #zepfcenterstrong
Look Mom & Dad, I'm on TV! Last week, I made my live TV debut with Steven Kapela on WTOL! Zepf Center was invited to speak about youth gambling, the new and improved Change the Game website, and treatment resources. Was I nervous? Uh.... YEP! Do I feel vulnerable posting this? Uh.... YEP! Counselor Grad School did not prepare me to do live TV interviews... but I'm grateful I have the opportunity to speak on the topic and advocate for our community. Congratulations Kelly Garza for securing one of the National Council on Problem Gambling Agility Grants!! Through its ‘Dogs & Dollars’ program, the Zepf Center will utilize pet-assisted wellness to engage college-age students at Bowling Green State University to provide financial literacy and problem gambling education. Agility Grants are specifically designed for non-profits to design and implement programs for their communities that seek to prevent or reduce harm on a primary level – among those who have not yet gambled; or on a secondary level – among those who have limited gambling experience. The Agility Grants program is funded by the NFL via the NFL Foundation with additional support from FanDuel. #traumainformed #zepfcenterstrong #hopebeginshere https://lnkd.in/gQWUXAn4
