Vermont's Westford School was thrilled to cheer on one of their FIRST LEGO League robotics teams, the Pickle Pandas, as they competed at the Western Edge Open in Long Beach, California a few weeks ago. This robotics team of 5th and 6th grade students had put in well over 100 hours of time to design, build, and code an autonomous robot. The students loved using their flanyards for ID badges, both for comfort (the standard badge came with string) and as a way to collect pins from the visiting teams. The competition welcomed 90 teams from all over the world (Japan, Korea, China, Estonia, Switzerland, New Zealand, Hungary, Germany, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, and more). "It was the experience of a lifetime for the kids," said Mark Drapa, volunteer coach. Flannelize your lanyards!
