The Unity Council recently had the privilege of participating in the 2024 UnidosUS (@WeAreUnidosUS) Annual Conference, “Our Time is Now!” 🌟 As the nation’s largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization, UnidosUS hosted this remarkable event, bringing together 1,500 Latino leaders and advocates. It was one of the largest gatherings of individuals dedicated to addressing the most important issues facing our community. We explored ways to bridge the Latino homeownership gap, enhance access to affordable healthcare, build political influence in this pivotal election year, and more! Creating meaningful change for the Latino community is essential, and the passion and commitment at this conference was inspiring! With the strategies and knowledge gained from leaders across the nation, we are more prepared than ever to advance our work at The Unity Council. We are excited about the future and remain dedicated to supporting our community in every possible way. Together, we are driving positive change! 💪✨ #UnityCouncil #UnidosUS #LatinoLeadership #CommunityChange #OurTimeIsNow #BayAreaNonprofits

Our Latino Men and Boys Summer Summit is an amazing 2-week summer program designed to support 22 LMB students as they transition from middle school to high school. Our dedicated Latino Men and Boys team (pictured above) came together to meticulously plan this incredible summer summit. Their hard work and passion for our students’ success are the driving force behind every activity and workshop. 🌞 📍 Week 1: Students are hitting the greens at Corica Park’s On The Green Summer Camp, learning golf basics and engaging in various physical activities with camp staff. ⛳️🤸♂️ 📍 Week 2: We focus on community building with exciting games like soccer, football, and capture the flag. ⚽️🏈🏃♂️ Throughout both weeks, students participate in daily workshops led by Latino Men and Boys staff, diving into essential topics like teamwork, peer pressure, life skills, health and wellness, and the high school experience. 🗣️💡 We are grateful for our amazing LMB team and educators who make this program possible! Your dedication and effort are truly inspiring. 👏🌟 We are proud of our students and excited to see them grow through these enriching activities! 💪 #TheUnityCouncil #LatinoMenandBoys #SummerSummit #OaklandYouth
