The Pilot newspaper staff won 25 advertising and news awards in this year’s North Carolina Press Association contest, including 12 first-place honors in various categories. Pilot advertising staff won four awards for their work over the past year, including three first-place awards. The Pilot’s news staff won 21 awards, including nine first place honors.

This week, the NC Local newsletter is taking a trip to the Carolina Sandhills, known for its abundance of longleaf pine, wiregrass and golf.
