🌟 A heartfelt thank you to Miami Times for highlighting our Saltwater Fellowship! Inspired by our urgency to address the racial inequities we see in our community data, our Saltwater Fellowship is designed to invest boldly in leaders who are moving the needle. The Saltwater Fellowship provides skills training, coaching, wellness retreats, and a two-year unrestricted grant totaling $100,000 to 10 brilliant leaders to help them accelerate their vital work in our community. We believe that it is through leaders like these that we can build a future Miami where everyone thrives. Check out the Miami Times article here: https://lnkd.in/e-drvrr4

Happy Birthday, Miami! Our magical community was officially incorporated as a city on July 28, 1896, with a population of just over 300 people. Today Miami-Dade County has a population of nearly 3 million, with people migrating from all over the country and the world to make this place home. The Miami that we get to work with everyday is a vibrant, multicultural community filled with incredible leadership, resilience, innovation, and generosity. It is our greatest joy and privilege to spend everyday alongside so many who work tirelessly to ensure that everyone in this community can thrive. Thank you, Miami, for being who you are. To say that we are proud to call Miami home would be an understatement. We love you!

This Week at The Miami Foundation… 🌟 We were thrilled to support our partners— United Way Miami, League of Women Voters of Miami-Dade County, The CLEO Institute, and Engage Miami —who hosted watch parties for #VoteMiami to help our community get to know their local candidates for the upcoming elections! 🏆 We had the pleasure of hosting Radical Partners in our office for our first Give Miami Day Fundraising workshop. A heartfelt thank you to Mama Joy from Nana's Restart for the beautiful gift award she created for the Foundation. Your support means so much to us! 🌍 We supported three of our amazing small business leaders at an all-day convening with the City of Miami, Living Cities, and Main Street America, discussing commercial ownership strategies in Allapattah, Overtown, and Coconut Grove. ✨ 🎉 Our team enjoyed a lively evening at R House, playing Drag Bingo for SAVE LGBT. We even had the pleasure of meeting Sophia Petrillo from the Golden Girls—what a treat! 🎤 We joined our Miami Fellow Class VI Fellow Monica Vigues-Pitan, CEO of Legal Services of Greater Miami, at their Young Professionals Council Conversations with Leaders event. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava spoke about her journey from nonprofit community service to elected office, inspiring the audience to follow their passion and make a difference in our community. 🎖️ We attended the Bleeding Blue expo at @FIU, honoring our law enforcement families. Bleeding Blue supports our veterans, police officers, and first responders, and it was an honor to celebrate their dedication. 🎉 We celebrated the 30th anniversary of Urgent Inc at Egyptian Nights. Our very own Julissa R. snapped a quick photo with the incredible Saliha Nelson, EdD, Executive Director of Urgent Inc. 🌟 We joined National Voices for Equality Education and Enlightenment (NVEEE) at FIU, where we led a workshop on leadership, service, and legacy during the final day of their youth conference. 📸Our team had an amazing experience getting our staff and executive headshots taken with our talented partners at AJ Shorter Photography!
