How on earth does a girl who went to 6 colleges, with a degree in Humanities, a grad school dropout for Education Leadership, end up falling into an industry and doing exactly what her beloved grandfather did without even realizing it? I walk by this letter my grandpa wrote to my grandma every day and it still brings me to tears 34 years after it was written. Richard Meyocks ran an ad agency, that today is still killing it, (Meyocks pronounced 'meeks'), and I can imagine the big smile he'd have knowing something he started and ground at is still providing for his community and is a shining example of great leadership and fantastic advertising. In hindsight I can see the ad agency quirks he embodied that make sense to me now; suspenders, he had an actual silo in his office, his office was COVERED in hundreds of pigs 🐷of all types (I loved the ones with M&M tummies), the funky coffee mugs with purple boxes as his logo to make people 'think outside the box,' and more. Reflecting on his legacy I’m reminded of the timeless values he embodied. His words to my grandmother highlight virtues like patience, support, and dedication—qualities that are crucial in both personal life and business. 🌟 Grandpa Dick's approach was all about balancing demands with understanding. In my own (mostly) accidental career in advertising, these principles guide me every day. *Core Values* 🕰️ Patience: Taking time to listen and understand. 🤝 Support: Being there for your team and community. 💎 Dedication: Committing to excellence in every project.
