About us

The Loft is a collaborative partnership which operates a shared workspace and reception, so that people need only walk through one front door to access all of the support they need. This ‘one-stop-shop’ approach reduces the multiple barriers (including financial, emotional, physical, and geographical) that commonly restrict access to support, and thereby sustain wellbeing inequalities. The Loft also operates a Social Emergency Response Service (SERS) that is designed to ensure that tamariki/children and their whānau are rapidly connected to the right services at the right time in a way that is relationship-centred. The support given by SERS puts people at the centre and does not ask people seeking assistance to describe their needs (‘self-diagnose’). Instead, SERS supports people to tell their stories. This approach enables clients to uncover the relationship between their experiences and needs (e.g. mental health, domestic violence, finance, housing advocacy) and so begin to develop sustainable, rather than reactive plans. https://givealittle.co.nz/org/ki-te-tihi-the-loft-charitable-trust

Re-capping an incredible day at our Hauora Matters health expo on Friday! It was a day filled with health screenings, wellness checks, and powerful kōrero about how we can live a healthy life. From blood pressure checks and nutrition advice to men's health support, and resources for tamariki and māmā - there was something for everyone. We couldn't have done this without the amazing health providers who gave their time and expertise! We appreciate their mahi and commitment to raising awareness and creating opportunities for people to take control of their health. Here's to creating more moments like these where we can come together, learn, support one another, and build a healthier future for our community!

The Loft Family Photo 📷 Last Friday, our team stepped away from our usual mahi for a well-deserved team day—and we successfully completed the escape room with 16 minutes to spare! 🎉 But it wasn’t just about solving puzzles. We spent time strengthening our confidence in how we support tāngata whai ora, ensuring that The Loft remains a safe, welcoming space for everyone. We aligned our values, reflected on how we communicate The Loft’s mission to build trust and credibility, and did some fun activities to get to know each other better. Time together like this helps us stay connected as a team, so we can continue to provide the best support possible to our community. 💙

✨ Mahi Wānanga Highlights! ✨ We are proud to share the success of our first Mahi Wānanga event, which welcomed around 250 attendees over two action-packed hours. The event fostered a dynamic environment where conversations turned into opportunities, and connections sparked new possibilities. We’ve already received word of at least three job offers resulting from the day, underscoring the value of bringing people together in this way. This is just a glimpse of the many positive outcomes we anticipate hearing about as connections continue to unfold. Thank you to everyone who joined us – your engagement and energy helped create a truly impactful day. We look forward to seeing how these new connections continue to grow! #MahiWānanga #CreatingOpportunities #CommunityImpact

The employment space has become highly competitive. With many businesses and organisations having restructured and fewer jobs on the market it's a tough time for people to find a job. Recognising that there is a need in this area we have created an event that not only connects job seekers with employers but also provides connection to social services that can support overall wellbeing and preparation for success in employment! Our event is designed to foster real connections within our community and we believe that successful employment goes hand-in-hand with personal and professional wellbeing. That's why our event includes: Direct Employment Opportunities: Job seekers will be able to meet employers keen to meet potential candidates and discuss current job vacancies. Wellbeing Support Services: Access the support from a range of social services that can support areas such as, financial literacy, budgeting, digital literacy, employee rights, legal rights in employment, CV writing, interview preparation and much more! Training and Upskilling: A range of training providers ready to help people upskill in all kinds of industries! One-on-One Support: Personalised assistance for job seekers with disabilities or mental health conditions. Networking Opportunities: Facilitated networking opportunities to encourage meaningful interactions between vendors, job seekers, and service providers. We hope that this opportunity is a meaningful and impactful experience for our community. If you know anyone that you think could benefit from this opportunity, please help spread the word! Ngā mihi nui!
