The IMP>ACT Project

We are happy to be part of this Community Café and for the opportunity to introduce our freshly started IMP>ACT project. In this project, we will develop an impact assessment framework that can be used by diverse education actors to monitor and evaluate sustainability and climate change education (SCCE). At the community café, our coordinator Jelle Boeve-de Pauw gave an overview of the project and its main objectives and intended outputs. After a brief introduction, he engaged with the community members about the challenges they encounter when monitoring and/or evaluating their SCCE policies and practices.

Delighted to share that the IMP>ACT project was spotlighted by Education for Climate! In a recent interview, our coordinator Assistant Professor Jelle Boeve-de Pauw discussed our mission to develop an assessment framework for "action competence," aligning with Education for Climate's vision of empowering individuals for sustainability. Let's make an IMP>ACT together! 💫 This #HorizonEurope project aims to understand what learners truly gain from Sustainability and Climate Change Education (SCCE) and how it shapes their mindsets and actions. Over the next four years, this project will focus on developing the IMP>ACT assessment framework aiming to delve deep into the impact of Sustainability and Climate Change Education. The framework will focus on #ActionCompetence as the key learning outcome of these educations and on #ActionOrientation as an approach to the quality of educational policies and practices across Europe. By bridging the gap in understanding and providing evidence-based insights, IMP>ACT aims to empower decision-makers in steering the course toward a more sustainable future.
