Great work by The Hellenic Initiative to make the summer youth academy a reality this summer in Greece. Congratulations to everyone at THI, especially my good friend and THI Board President George Stamas. Sports have the power to do much good in the world. This camp harnessed that power.

THI's first-ever Summer Youth Academy for children aged 14-18, is currently in full operation at Leonteios School Of Athens! THI proudly donated $50,000 to Axion Hellas in support of this year’s mission. In just 10 days, 164 volunteers and 14 vessels provided essential services to 5 islands, conducting 3,956 medical procedures for 1,342 people. Today, our #THI New Leaders visited the #THISummerYouth academy to share their stories with students, hoping to provide inspiration, and an opening for them to believe their dreams can come true. Gregory Makris, M.D, Ph.D, DIC, FRCR, Louis Loizou, Louis Loizou, Panos Jagalos, and Dimitris 'Dimi' Leivadas shared their respective beginnings in Greek schools and how their life journeys took off in unexpected international directions. The speakers used basketball, athletic anecdotes, and metaphors to connect with the kids and mirror life skills. We were delighted to provide all the children with a book as a gift from THI. #OliMazi, it was a wonderful opportunity for everyone involved! #TheHellenicInitiative
