Register here: https://loom.ly/k5QqGls If the words "prefab" and "modular" construction conjure images in your head of low-quality, assembly line-built boxes with no design aesthetic, think again. New and evolving prefab solutions provide healthcare architects, designers and providers with vast creative opportunities, customization and flexibility above and beyond what is typically possible – and affordable – in traditional drywall construction. Attend our Drivers in Healthcare Workshop sponsored by AcornVac and Patcraft to hear Corie Baker, AIA, EDAC, LEED AP BDC, WELL AP, Fitwel Amb of Gresham Smith discuss prefabrication and how we can leverage multi-disciplinary teams to achieve sustainable construction. Read the latest Design Discoveries: https://loom.ly/nmb7KLk In the latest “Design Discoveries” column in July/August edition of Health Facilities Management magazine, The Center’s Research Associate Yolanda Keys shares three resources from our Knowledge Repository – a searchable, open-access database – that examine design features influencing circadian rhythm. Disrupted circadian rhythms (day-night cycles) can compromise the recovery of hospitalized patients. The featured research can be considered when evaluating design interventions to facilitate healthy circadian functions across patient populations. As the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE)'s new Strategic Education Collaborator and a PDC Summit Supporting Organization, The Center is pleased to extend to our community a free two-year digital subscription to HFM. Look for Center news, design research discoveries from our team, and in-depth features from The Center and our Environment Networks and research partners in each issue. Register Here: https://loom.ly/vgFohIE Attend our two-day Lean & Evidence-Based Design (EBD) virtual workshop August 22-23 and learn how to integrate Lean methods and evidence-based design to your next project. We will illustrate how the design and implementation process can be informed, complemented, and enhanced by an EBD process that uses research findings, data collection and evaluation of results a Lean methodology for problem solving and continuous improvement. By integrating these value-based approaches during the planning, design, construction and occupancy of a project, you can maximize project outcomes while improving performance. This workshop is a unique and timely opportunity to see the application of Lean in healthcare project design, and then integrate with an evidence-based design process to maximize outcomes, efficiencies, quality and savings.
