Updates

  • Please join us in our third Where Y'all At?! event! This conversation will serve as a learning opportunity and space for networking to research current updates on HIV research. This installation of the WYA series will be an interactive workshop that explores how the intersectionality of Black women impacts perspectives, attitudes, and acceptability of HIV prevention methods and messages for and among Black women. Our guest speaker, Rasheeta Chandler, PhD, RN, FNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN is an Associate Professor, tenured, at Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. In addition, Dr. Chandler has a Visiting Professorship at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Center for AIDS Prevention Science. Her research interests include HIV prevention in minority populations and comprehensive sex health promotion, supported by funding from the National Institute on Nursing Research. This event will highlight: the importance of women and black women in HIV, the lack and need for black women in HIV research, and speak about HIV rates among Black women.
