Tip for Hospice Leaders: it may seem to make financial sense that increasing your staff’s caseloads will save money by reducing your labor expense … right??? This is one of those areas where it looks good on paper, but actually has the opposite results. Reducing your team’s caseload to a manageable 12, with a max overflow of 15 will save you money in many areas: 1. Decreasing on-call visits which saves per visits expenses, mileage, etc. 2. Decreasing live discharges, which is very significant as CMS is really scrutinizing this. 3. Decreasing the cost PPD of supplies, DME and pharmacy. 4. Decreasing costly turnover. 5. Increasing patient / caregiver satisfaction for improved experience. 6. Increasing quality scores. 7. When your nurses are not so rushed they can focus on documentation that supports eligibility reducing the risk of audits and reimbursement recovery demands. These are just a few of the ways decreasing caseloads will save you money. #tipsforhospiceleaders #hospice #hospiceowner #executive #executivedirector #caseload #ratios #savemoney #reduceexpenses #tipsforhospicenurses #forhospicenurses #hospicenurse #survey

Ever wear masks at work? Not the COVID kind – I’m talking about that slick, “always-on” persona we think we need to rock. I used to be the king of it. Had a mask for every situation (and not just at work), convinced I had to be Mr. Perfect – all answers, no flaws. And man, was it draining. But here’s the plot twist – that mask? It wasn’t just draining me, it was straight-up strangling my creativity and blocking real connections with my team and clients (and everyone else). Over time, the mask broke me. But eventually I decided to break the mask… instead of myself. I finally Started just showing up without caring about what people think of me (good of me or bad of me). This not only freed me, but was able give honest support and understanding to others. It blew open a whole new level of trust and collaboration in every aspect of my life. Here’s what I’ve realized… in this New World 🌍 of Work: showing our quirks, our “weirdness” – that’s where the real magic is. It’s the rocket fuel for growth and real connections. Think about it – when’s the last time you felt truly seen at work? Bet it wasn’t when someone was acting like a polished-up robot. So here’s my challenge for you: What’s one way you can be more unapologetically “you” at work today? Remember, perfection is the enemy of progress. We’re going for real. Your authentic self isn’t just enough – it’s your superpower. #loveyourweird #BreakTheMask
