While kindness is important, I prefer to call it people first. "Leading" by metrics might work in the short term, but it comes at the cost of long term success. Taking the time to establish a mutual foundation of trust, support, and respected rapport... now that's 👩🍳 😗 (*chef kiss*).

Amazing speech from Girls Who Code CEO Reshma Saujani and how our interactions from a young age, even unintentional, have impact on future behaviors. There’s so much growth in this area, which is why it’s so important to stay diligent and provide the education and space for conversations that help everyone grow!

We’re raising only half the population to be brave, says Reshma Saujani, and it’s affecting our innovation. Here’s why it’s important to teach girls — not just boys — to take risks: http://t.ted.com/AqwGN3q

Vacations and time away from work are great ways to recharge and minimize burnout, but maybe a vacation isn’t in your budget or your schedule doesn’t allow it. Anyone else just love a morning cup of coffee outside before a busy day starts? 🙋🏼♀️ This cup is a special gift from my sister when we recently visited Itacha, NY to visit my grandfather’s alma mater, Cornell University, which is also where the OG, RBG attended. #iykyk RBG is an amazing inspiration for her advocacy and advancement of women. Every day I hope I’m a little bit more like her. #rbg #ruth #womenempowerment

🎶 Thoughts on adding a bit of melody to your voice???? 🎶

View profile for Vinh Giang, graphic

International Keynote Speaker | Communication Skills Teacher

This is a problem for many women in the workplace... To command more authority requires you to speak louder, but often for women they get labelled as being "bitchy". The key behaviour you need to add when you speak louder is to add more melody to your voice! This makes what you say more pleasant and also makes it feel less like you're screaming. Send this to a friend to help them become a better communicator!
