Exciting news in future telecommunications! 🌐🚀 A team of Navy scientists developed a cutting-edge Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) technology with big commercial potential. The tech has potential to improve network connections in places where a signal is weak and could be added to tiles, billboards, doors, walls, windows, and vehicles. The Navy's RIS tech works passively, without using extra power that traditional signal boosters or repeaters require, making it more efficient and versatile. Mobile cooking stoves are used by the military for field operation. But the current cooking stove, the Modern Burner Unit, suffers from disadvantages including noise, inefficiency, and the release of carbon monoxide. DOD researchers have developed an improved cooking stove that uses flameless catalytic combustion to generate heat, reducing or even eliminating carbon monoxide. Consumer applications include indoor and outdoor cooking stoves for kitchens, barbecues, or camping.
