As an independent contractor, one of my favorite ways to find work is to check in with former clients, vendors, and other contacts with whom my values align - or conjure up fond memories. [Hey Andrew McCurdy, remember when we used an industrial compressor to simulate the desert wind blowing wads of paper across the floor like tumbleweeds for the intro to a training video? Or when Beth Thomas wrote a rap for the BPA system launch at The River Club?]. About a decade ago, I was invited to the 25th anniversary of a local family-owned business that I used for outsourcing training that was not part of our curriculum at Big Lots (thank you, Jennifer Steinke!). The event would be held at the Athletic Club of Columbus, where my wedding reception had been years before. After a wonderful meal and touching remarks from the founder, I noticed what appeared to be Jello shots circulating the room on silver trays. Upon closer inspection, they WERE in fact Jello shots - and I knew that these were people with whom I could relate. Work hard, have fun, be nice...and don't take yourself too seriously! Right, Terri Williams Davy? Over the next few months, I will be a vendor to my former vendor, The Computer Workshop, Inc., sharing opportunities for individuals to grow as learners (hello, Ohio tech cred!) and leaders (damn, I look good leveraging free training and centralized learning opportunities!). Don't worry, Becky Anzalone - I got this 😉 So stay tuned for more on what I'm doing with my friends at TCW! #TheComputerWorkshop #FutureofWork #AtYourBest #LearningisFun #GetYourCreds #CertifyYourself #SetYourPath #BlazeYourTrail
