We had an Amazing TC BANDD XVII! Thanks to Best Buy for hosting, our Outstanding speakers, Bremer Bank for sponsoring, and our engaged and passionate attendees! Saturday was a day of development, networking, sharing, building and maintaining relationships, and a shining example of #BlackExcellence on display and the impact of #CollaborationWithaPurpose! One of the highlights of the 11 years that I have had the privilege of leading TC BANDD was the opportunity to meet several amazing African Leaders from the Mandela Washington Fellowship Cohort (pictured in the first image) who joined us at the event. 1. They shared how much they enjoyed and appreciated the event and key skills and experiences that they gained during the summit 2. The shared the projects that they would be leading when they return home to one of the many African countries which were represented (access to clean drinking water, improved medical access, sustainability, increased educational access for young girls, etc.) and how the knowledge they gained through the summit would help them execute them! 3. And now that they are part of our TC BANDD community, they will be able to access all of our development content and our future sessions virtually upon their return allowing them to continue to share their insights with us and also to continue to grow through access to our content and resources. #TCBANDDAfricaConnections Follow our YouTube Channel: https://lnkd.in/gZkeUUs2 to be notified when session videos will be available and visit our website (tcbandd.org) to view more session photos, and we expect videos and pictures to be edited and uploaded within a week. Hello, and thanks to everyone who joined us for the 3rd and final session in our Black History Month Virtual Series: "Owning, Understanding, and Leveraging Your Power to Drive Your Career" where we had a fireside chat with Dr. D Gregory Kerkvliet PMP, Ed.D, Vice President of HR Shared Services and Product Technology, Target. This session explored the innate power that we have as talented, engaged, and driven professionals along with strategies to understand and leverage this power to achieve our career goals. Greg shared his personal journey of self-awareness, personal empowerment, and how he has leveraged the resulting power to frame his decisions and allow him to own his personal power! Sample “Greg” Quotes: ·       “If I show up differently and have these conversations, regardless of how it impacts me, I change it! It changes things for my Kids. If I show up differently, others 10 years from now can also show up differently. I don’t live in fear anymore. I am trying to make it better for those coming behind me.” ·       “How are we networking together to help each other. How are we building on this network to help each other”? ·       “We need to build and support each other, because we are changing how our children and grandchildren show up for their careers.” Keys to Career Success:  1.     Never give up on your Dream, just allow your life to help you evolve it 2.     Always understand your Worth (internally and externally) 3.     No one has ever given you an opportunity, you are giving them an opportunity to work with you (and leverage your skills/talents to help them -own your power) You can watch the full session on demand at our YouTube channel using the link below: https://lnkd.in/g_bYm8Vk Learn More: tcbandd.org Drinal Foster, SHRM-CP, PHR, Eric Black, Ken Charles, Cecilia Charter, MBA, Christian Spiegel, Karmin Bryant, Solomon Anderson, Latano Hall, Jonathan Oliver Jr., Hailey Grigsby (Reed)
