According to The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA)’s 2021 report, England and Scotland are jointly ranked 13th in Europe in terms of access to combination treatments. Slipping down 10 places!   If a comprehensive solution isn’t found, the UK clinical community will continue to face frustration if treatments, known to be beneficial in clinical trials, cannot be used routinely in the NHS. There is the risk that treatment standards could fall behind that of other countries.     As part of our video series, 'Combination Treatments: Why Access is Needed’, Helen M Taylor (Programme Access Lead at Takeda UK&I), Eric Low (Member of Takeda’s Advisory Group), and Vanessa Ohlmeyer (Head of Medical Affairs, Oncology at Takeda UK&I) discuss the implications for the life sciences industry and patients, as well as our proposed solution to tackle the access barriers.   For further information on our proposed solution visit here: https://lnkd.in/eY9c4UbD   #CombinationTreatments

Our teams in the UK and Ireland had a blast celebrating Founders Day! 🎉 At our UK & Ireland Annual Conference, Shane Ryan and Mikito Ishida shared our history and hosted a fun bonsai tree workshop, making it a day to remember.   In Bray, we enjoyed a Japanese-themed lunch, rolling demos, origami workshops, and a quiz about Takeda's fascinating history. The day then continued with a townhall where we dived into our heritage and applauded our colleagues' contributions.  The highlight? Announcing the Bray People Recognition Awards 2024 winners! 🏆 Meanwhile, over at the Grange Castle site, we marked Takeda's 243rd Anniversary with a BBQ! Think quizzes, spot prizes, and socialising over burgers and ice-cream – a great way to celebrate! Huge thanks to everyone who made these days so incredibly special! Check out some highlights below. 📸 🌿 #FoundersDayFun #TeamSpirit #WeAreTakedaUKandIreland

After a long period of collaboration to address the complex challenges faced by combination treatments, we are encouraged by the publication of the prioritisation statement from the Competition and Markets Authority.   This statement will allow progression towards finding a solution that supports patient access to combination treatments and we are pleased that Takeda was able to inform the work of the ABPI and the CMA to bring it to fruition.   Takeda will continue to work on addressing the access challenges faced by combination treatments - watch the video below to hear from Emma Roffe (Oncology Country Head, Takeda UK & Ireland) and Jane Lyons (CEO, Cancer52) on why they are so important to patients and their outcomes.   For further information on Takeda’s work in this area visit here: https://lnkd.in/eY9c4UbD   #CombinationTreatments  #Cancer52

June is Pride Month! 🌈 This year’s theme “Better Together: Pride in Unity” emphasizes the importance of solidarity and togetherness within the LGBTQ community and allies.   At Takeda, we truly believe that different identities, experiences, generations and perspectives contribute to a more vibrant and resilient community. We take a values-based approach to inclusive patient experiences, inclusive work environments, workforce diversity and sustainable societal impact.   This month, we look forward to celebrating Pride with various activities including a panel/networking event run by the Proud Science Alliance and our participation in the Dublin Pride Parade.
