Overheard from The Seattle Times on Muckleshoot Indian Tribe's new Ocean Pavilion: "Above, the rooftop of the pavilion will finally reconnect Pike Place Market and the waterfront. When it opens to the public this fall, the city’s Overlook Walk will have play areas, public plazas, a cafe and adjacent covered seating, with native landscaping led by Valerie Segrest, an enrolled Muckleshoot citizen and a Native nutrition educator. Access to these areas will be open and free to anyone." #MuckleshootTribe #Native #NativeCulture #NativeLandscaping

Muckleshoot Indian Tribe's Ocean Pavilion is finally making its debut after eight years in the making. Their outstanding project is housed at the Seattle Aquarium, honoring the Muckleshoot’s deep connection to the waterfront and centering Indigenous voices through Muckleshoot signage, cultural displays, event collaborations, and roof garden plantings. TPS Co-Founder Valerie Segrest has been instrumental to this project since the beginning, and we are so excited to see it in action. #Muckleshoot #MuckleshootIndianTribe #OceanPavilion #SeattleAquarium
