In this #WomenInSTEMWednesday celebrating #HispanicHeritageMonth with @systemic_flow, we spotlight Dr. Sabrina González-Pasterski, a first-generation Cuban-American physicist and aerospace engineer. 🌟 Born in Chicago in 1993, Sabrina’s passion for aviation began early—she flew her first aircraft at just 12 and built her own at 13, flying solo by 16. She pursued her undergraduate studies at MIT, working on the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment, and later earned her PhD in Physics from Harvard, where she discovered the “spin memory effect” and developed the Pasterski-Strominger-Zhiboedov Triangle for electromagnetic memory. Her work has been cited by Stephen Hawking, and today, she serves as the Deputy Director of Simons Collaboration on Celestial Holography at the Simons Foundation. Dr. González-Pasterski is also a passionate advocate for STEM education, working to inspire young women in underrepresented communities in Cuba and Russia. 🚀✨ #WomenInSTEM #HispanicHeritageMonth #PhysicsLeadership
