We’re proud to honor the entrepreneurial spirit of women. In celebration of National Women’s Small Business Month, Synovus held a Women Mean Business Luncheon on October 8, welcoming nearly 200 attendees, including local small business owners from the Columbus area, Synovus executives, and retail and commercial banking leaders. An incredible panel of women offered their unique perspectives of business ownership, what drives their success and how they’ve learned to overcome the everyday challenges of being a business owner. In a panel led by Liz Wolverton, Head of Consumer Banking and Brand Experience, a diverse mix of women brought their inspiring business experiences: Teil Duncan Henley – Teil Duncan Art Chalet Kossey – 501 Salon Experience Cheryl Flowers – This WORKS, Inc. LeeAnn Powers – Emersa WaterBox Synovus brand ambassador, Teil Duncan Henley, played a vital role on the panel, sharing her unique experience in growing her passion for art into a thriving business while also being a mom and wife to PGA golfer, Russell Henley. Also among the panel attendees and local business owners was Ella Hudson. Perhaps the youngest entrepreneur in the room, Ella is a senior in high school and the owner of Fountain City Babysitting. Her company began during the pandemic to provide childcare to working parents and has quickly grown to include pet sitting and event care support services for families and businesses in Columbus. A surprise twist for the afternoon came in the form of a coveted big check for $10,0000 made payable to Rose Maternity Co. Business founder and winner of a local BizPitch competition in 2023, Britnee Wheeler, was presented with the check to help grow her business. Britnee’s journey as a business owner was born out of her own experience with motherhood and the determination to help fill a need for other expectant mothers. In an extension of our annual commitment to the Power of the Purse (Women United Program; United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley), making a purchase from Rose Maternity Co. was a perfect way to further their work while also supporting Britnee’s mission to provide supportive undergarments to mothers at all stages of their pregnancy and through motherhood. We’re inspired by the impact each of our panelists, attendees and featured business owners brings. We look forward to the great things they’ll accomplish in the future! #Synovus #GetThere #NationalWomensSmallBusinessMonth #Entrepreneurship #WomenOwnedBusiness
