The RIEDEL Communications stand at IBC 2024 (10.A31) is filled with new products, including the all-new Smart Audio & Mixing Engine SAME audio processing software suite, which offered extensive workflow automation and flexibility. In addition, Riedel has launched the Virtual SmartPanel (VSP), an all-new software solution that enables users to leverage their mobile devices for remote intercom connections. Lastly, Riedel Communications has launched two new additions to its acclaimed Network Stream Adapter (NSA) series: the NSA-003A and NSA-006A. Jan Schaffner, Program Director, Riedel Communications, discusses the RefCam, which was developed by Riedel in collaboration with Bundesliga referees. A miniature camera was mounted on a referee's head to broadcast live footage of their perspective, enhancing viewers' experience by providing an immersive view of the action. The Ref Cam system includes a camera mounted on the referee's head and a transmission unit on their belt, which sends live video signals to a receiving point, allowing viewers to see exactly what the referee sees during the game. Riedel’s Managed Technology division handles over 4,500 global projects annually, providing tailored solutions for various sporting events, including both smaller and large-scale events across different sports and leagues. The division specializes in customizing solutions for different leagues worldwide, including major sports leagues in the US and European football leagues, adapting their technology to meet specific needs.

IBC2024 marks the debut of Tata Comms Media (14.H06), the new unified brand that combines all Tata Communications’ media and entertainment entities into one business unit, including The Switch, now Tata Comms Media’s production services solution. Robert Szabó-Rowe, Head of Engineering & Product Management discusses how the company is showcasing its expanded range of cloud-first IP media services and end-to-end media workflows, including cloud-based production, contribution, channel origination, media orchestration and distribution worldwide. In Amsterdam, the company is demonstrating how media companies and enterprises creating video content can mix and match the advanced production and delivery capabilities of its MIMiC cloud services platform – which include distributed and remote production, clipping & editing, playout, and transmission – and MediaHub, its leading-edge cloud media asset management & orchestration platform. Another element in Tata Comms Media’s IP services mix is its global video content delivery network (CDN), also being showcased at IBC2024. The booth also is highlighting a case study on how Tata Comms Media works with Formula E, the world’s premier electric vehicle racing series, to implement an innovative, truly global internet-only IP set-up for each of its events – helping the organization towards its goal of being the most eco-friendly motorsport in the world.
