What a great initiative by Joanna Radeke and the team at ESMT Berlin to host the Sustainable Business Roundtable event in #Berlin yesterday. It was exciting to meet so many people from practice, science, and the startup world, all loaded with amazing insights! The best part for me was that it focused on decision-making based on insights from reporting, which is why we all do it, I guess/hope. Here are Milena's and my three key takeaways from the day: 1️⃣ Multiplying the complexity of large organizations with the complexity of reporting frameworks is not helpful to drive action. The key is to pivot your own data based on the knowledge about the business in combination with key requirements into actionable chunks of work. 2️⃣ Not every datapoint is a disclosure, and not every disclosure is a KPI. I loved this statement from yesterday as it highlights that not every datapoint is a "steerable" KPI and thus should be treated that way. 3️⃣ We all desire to drive action and not be stuck in daily manual tasks for a good part of the day. Everyone agrees that digital solutions and AI play a huge role in moving forward in this regard. Lastly, during my pitch, I heard whispers, and yes, I think it was partly because Sunhat really solves a big part of the “getting rid of the manual burden” for many practitioners in the room. And maybe also because Germany just scored the first goal in that second - then I heard the words more clearly: “Toooor” :-D, love it!
