Last week, the Subaru Women's Network at Subaru of America HQ packed feminine products for I Support The Girls. This organization aims to make dignity the norm by collecting and distributing essential items for women. These hygiene kits will support the organization's A.S.H. Kit program. Aid, Safety, Hygiene Kits (A.S.H Kits) are customizable care packages that individuals can request directly from the organization. For those who don’t fit into a gender binary box, relevant and appropriate support is difficult to access. This program provides direct relief, comfort, and gender-affirming products to all those who fall under the non-cisgender identity umbrella. In total, the SWN & SOA volunteers at HQ packed roughly 7,200 pads and 6,000 tampons for the A.S.H. Kit program. In addition we had folks in the field participate and pack roughly 1,200 pads and 1,000 tampons! The Black and Latino Employee Network for Diversity at Subaru (BLENDS) recently held a book drive for the Free Books Project in Camden, an organization dedicated to improving literacy access in local NJ communities. Last weekend, our Employee Resource Group BLENDS (Black and Latino Employee Network for Diversity at Subaru) took a bus trip from our HQ in Camden, NJ to Harlem, NY to experience the rich tapestry of Black History and Latin Culture. The journey began with an uplifting one-hour gospel concert, followed by a captivating 2-hour guided walking tour exploring Harlem's historical landmarks and narratives.
