As part of LA County’s Measure W Safe Clean Water Program, Studio-MLA is working on the LA Sanitation & Environment project to rehabilitate MacArthur Park Lake to capture stormwater, enhance water quality, and create pleasant spaces for recreation, education and community gathering at the park. Below the surface, stormwater will be collected for treatment through a new pump system, diverting pollutants that would otherwise be headed towards Ballona Creek. Above the surface, a series of terraced aquatic wetlands will circulate lake water for filtering while creating a vibrant park space with educational signage for community to learn about the Safe Clean Water Program. Thanks for the feature, Urbanize LA! And shoutout to the amazing project team: Carollo Engineers, Craftwater Engineering, and Mujeres de la Tierra #LandscapeArchitecture #MacArthurParkRehabilitation #LASafeCleanWater
