  • As a teenager, some of you probably had a little pet project to build your own PC from scratch. It was easy peasy, right? Well... 👨💻 First, you spent lots of time researching the right components to make sure they are compatible. ... but you still ended up with incompatible parts. The assembly took a while and errors were hard to troubleshoot. ... and the reassembly took forever. Now imagine if you simply bought a completed system instead. We know that this is way less fun. But you know what brings the fun back? When your computer can reliably run all your favorite games - even when pulling an all-nighter. 🔋The same thing is true with DC power systems - the only difference is that you do NOT want it to keep you up at night. 💤 You simply want to forget about sourcing, buying, and installing separate chargers, batteries, distribution panels and AC components. All you really want is a factory-assembled system in one cabinet. Our PowerCab2®️ is exactly what you are looking for - just drop in the cabinet, connect the AC line, attach loads through the panel, and start it up: ⏱️ Install in hours instead of days. 👣 Reduced footprint, no wall space needed. 🎯 Less chance for errors during installation. Save your time for some pet projects - and don't lose a minute of sleep, opt for our one-cabinet DC UPS solution: https://lnkd.in/gaMV2z9z #DCPowerSystem #CriticalPower #FactoryAssembled #MorePowerLessSpace

  • Do you stress about your mission-critical systems losing power? It's time to declare your independence from worry. 📜🖋️ Backup power relies on batteries - to run your UPS or to start up your emergency generator. But it's the charger that keeps those batteries well-fed and ready to go at a moment's notice. Not all chargers are created equal - you want a charger built for reliability. One that will take proper care of your batteries, regardless of temperature extremes, dirty conditions or electrical transients. ❤️ At SENS, our stated mission is to protect critical infrastructure from shutdown due to power loss. This is not just a slogan; it's something that guides everything we do, from design to sourcing to production and sales. We worry - so you don't have to. 👀 Follow us to keep up with the latest developments in highly reliable backup power for critical applications. #EngineStarting #DCPowerSystems #CriticalPower

What is SENS? Sure, people know us because we make amazing products; but first & foremost it's the #PeopleWhoMakeSENS. Everything starts with the many bright, dedicated people who bring their passion to SENS every day. 🗣️ This is why we want to put some of our most interesting characters in the spotlight. Are you ready to get to know their personal qualities and unique quirks? The first one to talk some SENS is Chief Revenue Officer Olen Scott. 🙋♂️ ❓ So Olen, how did you end up at SENS? Olen: I had the privilege of serving as a reference for our CFO, Michael Flanagan, several years ago; he’s the most talented CFO I’ve ever known. In that talk, the chemistry with the principals was exceptional. We had similar philosophies, the conversation came easy. A few months later, they circled back and invited me to join the company. I had some industry experience gaps but they’ve been great educators and mentors. I left the company for a little over a year and knew almost instantly it was a mistake - it would be hard for any place to feel like home after having worked here. I’m thankful I could return. ❓ What do you like most about SENS? The “One for all, all for one” attitude at SENS is genuine. The company treats people well, and I'm a huge believer in strong culture. Also, we kill it in our space: who doesn’t love being part of a winning team? ❓ What is a typical day like? There is no typical. I aim to spend about 25% of my time evaluating & prioritizing new business opportunities and discussing them with the rest of the executive team. This and learning about customers’ needs and experiences are my key activities. ❓ What gets you out of bed in the morning? Wow, lots of things: My family will always be priority #1 and is why I work so hard. Professionally, I want to make a difference, not just money. I love to help develop motivated sales and business leaders who want to win the same way I do. I also love that our solutions at SENS make a real difference….continuous power is no joke. Lives and livelihoods are at stake when power fails. ❓ What keeps you up at night? The things I don’t know & can’t control. What are my competitors developing? Will supply chains stay healthy? How do we stay 2 steps ahead? ❓ What advice would you give a new sales employee at SENS? Don’t try to boil the ocean - we know it’s complicated, but it will come. Luckily SENS supports a balanced approach for your career. ❓ What do you do in your free time? Playing with my family & dogs - go for a hike, ski & snowboard, travel, watch my children’s lacrosse, field hockey & soccer games. Our CFO Mike Flanagan is threatening to drag me back into doing multi distance triathlons with him….we’ll see 😊 ❓ What's a fun fact about you? I have wrestled former WWF champ Kurt Angle three different times! (no wins 😉) Wow, better not mess with this guy! There's nothing left to say but: More power (to you), Mr. Scott! We consider ourselves lucky to have you back on the team.

AI promises great improvements for society - and significant challenges for data centers, as we learned last week. The 7x24 Exchange International Spring Conference is a major event in the data center world. Our own Rob Groben and Tony Crandall went to Orlando last week to meet with our partners and learn more about the power challenges of data center operators. A major takeaway: AI is causing the power demands for data centers to skyrocket. Operators are looking at any and all possibilities to fill that demand, from renewables and SMRs to, believe it or not, increased coal generation. Of course, as the saying goes, the greenest energy is the one we don't use - so every opportunity to boost efficiency is also on the table. ❓ We'd love to hear your thoughts: What will be the most important - or the most underrated - tech to meet AI power demands? #DataCenters #AI #CriticalPower #7x24Exchange

📊 Money is what made the world go round in the past, and nowadays it's data. But what happens if a data center suffers from a severe outage? One thing is for sure: the cost will hurt. The Annual Outage Analysis 2024 report from Uptime Institute shows that the cause of over 50% of severe outages in data centers is power loss, especially when backup systems like UPS or generators fail to bring back power. 💸 54% of respondents said their most recent major outage cost over $100,000, with 16% reporting costs exceeding $1 million. If you want to learn more about how nickel-zinc batteries paired with rugged chargers can boost the reliability of both generator starting and UPS systems, our own Rob Groben and Tony Crandall will be attending the 7x24 Exchange International Spring Conference this week in Orlando. Reach out to them here on LinkedIn or on the 7x24 app. P.S. Curious to learn more about the report? • 🦇 “Sometimes the truth isn’t good enough, sometimes the people deserve more,” said Bat(tery)man as he surveyed the shadowed expanse of Gotham from a high rooftop. The city's citizens were oblivious to the hidden potential of critical DC power, engine starting, and monitoring. Their vital infrastructure and businesses lay vulnerable, unprotected against the lurking threat of a power outage. The stakes were high—lives and property teetered on the brink of irreversible loss. But the dawn of a new era was imminent. Bat(tery)man was poised to transform this truth into reality, yet he knew he couldn't undertake this mission alone. That's why he called upon the Vermillion Phoenix (PBT), seeking an alliance. Together, they would illuminate Gotham, ushering in a brighter, safer future. #TheDynamicBatteryDuo #KeepingGothamPowered

☀️⚡ We know that geomagnetic storms brought on by solar activity can cause our electronics to fail. But how likely are events like the recent heavy solar storms to cause blackouts? The map below, thanks to NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration and U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), shows the strength of geoelectric currents through rocks and soil early on May 11. While people across the continent watched beautiful auroras, geoelectric amplitudes exceeded 10 V/km in parts of Virginia - 10,000 times more than normal. This was roughly half as intense as the 22 V/km measured in Virginia during the 1989 geomagnetic storm that took out power in Quebec, leaving millions dark and cold for 9 hours (data for Quebec is not readily availabile). As a side note, the 1989 event was actually a double CME - which we now know is also the case for other extreme geomagnetic storms in the past. However, this time the lights stayed on across the continent. "We have made lots of progress,” said Emanuel Bernabeu, Sr. Director – Applied Innovation & Analytics at the US's largest grid operator PJM Interconnection. “In fact, if the 1989 storm happened again today, I believe Québec would not lose power. The modern grid is designed to withstand an extreme 1-in-100 year geomagnetic event. To put that in perspective, March 1989 was only a 1-in-40 or 50 year event–well within our design specs. Utilities have upgraded their protection and control devices, making them immune to type of harmonics that brought down Hydro-Québec." Not everyone shares this optimism. For instance, Dr. Jeffrey Love of the USGS project that collects and analyzes this data, said, "Although power companies have taken measures to improve the resilience of their systems, no one would welcome another storm as intense as that of March 1989." At any rate, protecting the grid against geomagnetic storms is something the industry takes quite seriously. 💪 And it goes to show that equipment hardening is vital to the resilience of power systems. This is one of many reasons why we design our rectifiers to withstand extreme conditions - including electrical transients. Check out the article on Spaceweather.com: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gzScTGjg Read more about the fascinating story of the Great Quebec Blackout and what we learned from it: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gVvcyspY #CriticalPower #GeomagneticStorms #Blackout
