There’s always room at our table.

About us

Stop & Shop has been around for more than 100 years. We started small, as a corner grocery store back in 1914. And we’ve grown…a lot. We have more than 50,000 Associates in 350 stores throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, and New Jersey. Through that change, our values have stayed the same. At Stop & Shop, we’ve made a commitment to making our stores better every day for our associates, our customers, and our communities. It’s our secret recipe for success. It guides everything we do from the products that stock our shelves to the way we manage our stores! It helps us put the customer first, do what’s right, win together, and make ideas happen.

What an exciting time kicking off the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford’s Stop & Shop Kids Cooking Club with a “Top Chef” inspired cooking competition! Four teams of BGCH youth – each assisted by one Stop & Shop associate “Sous Chef” - created recipes from the Stop & Shop Kids Cooking Club curriculum. The kids had a blast learning to cook and being creative in the kitchen before presenting their signature dishes to a panel of celebrity judges - Sarah Cody, Alex P. Taylor, Bryce Hardy. The winning team received Stop & Shop gift cards and a plaque, and all participants received plush Stop & Shop Marty the Robot toys, as well as other Stop & Shop swag! We were also proud to present a check for $50,000 to the club to support their ongoing commitment to providing food and nutrition education to BGHC members ranging in age from 6-18. #FeeditForward #Connecticut #KidsCookingClub #Nutrition

It's National Pharmacy Week, and we wanted to take a moment to recognize our incredible pharmacy teams, who are always making a positive impact on our communities by demonstrating our commitment to community health, building trust with our customers, and educating them on using food as medicine. We deeply appreciate our pharmacy teams for leading with care, and we’re proud to celebrate all the important work you do! #NationalPharmacyWeek

We’re #FeedingItForward in #Westchester! Stop & Shop was proud to present a check exceeding $154,000 to our longstanding partner, Feeding Westchester, at their warehouse in Elmsford, New York to support hunger relief programs across Westchester County. Our associates also volunteered at the Feeding Westchester distribution center to support their Balanced Bites program by filling bags with nutritious, snackable items. This kid-focused snack program is designed to reach children where they gather—at schools, afterschool programs, and daycares, and provides bags of shelf-stable, nutritious snacks to help bridge the meal gap for children facing food insecurity. According to Feeding Westchester, 1-in-3 households in Westchester are at risk of hunger. The donation of $154,000 will help serve 308,000 meals and support the 229,000 neighbor visits Feeding Westchester sees each month, including 80,000 child visits. This donation is part of a larger $2 million donation from Stop & Shop to eight Feeding America food banks across New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut to support programs that fight against food insecurity. #FeedItForward #NewYork #FightingHunger

We’re #FeedingItForward in Boston with the opening of C-TOWN Eats - a new in-school food pantry at Charlestown High School, designed to help the growing number of students and their families struggling with food insecurity. We donated $15,000 through the Stop & Shop School Food Pantry Program to provide students with access to healthy food. Campbell's also donated 500 cans of Chunky Soup to the pantry to help students in need. As the third largest school in Boston, Charlestown High School has a diverse community of over 900 students, a majority of whom live in low-income communities and face food insecurity daily. With the increased cost of living, many students take on full time work in addition to their school studies to help fund housing and necessities for their families. Our goal is for Charlestown students to feel supported, nourished, and empowered to focus on school and their future. No student should have to go to school wondering where their next meal is coming from. By taking that burden off of students and their families, we aim to give them a chance to focus on their schoolwork and thrive. The Stop & Shop School Food Pantry Program currently supports 22 schools across Boston and has nearly 250 school pantries across the northeast. #StopandShopschoolFoodPantryProgram #FeedItForward

Earlier this week, we announced big news that we are doing our part to make groceries in Rhode Island more affordable across our 25 stores in the state. As a part of our multi-year strategy to invest in our customer experience, this statewide effort in Rhode Island is our latest effort to deliver more value to customers through lower everyday pricing and strong promotions. Shoppers can expect to see lower regular prices on thousands of items across national and private brand products.  We’ve also eliminated the 10-cent paper bag fee at all stores across Rhode Island, making them once again free for local shoppers.  Stop & Shop has already lowered prices on thousands of items in each store in areas like Western Massachusetts, Connecticut, and select locations in the Boston area as part of our multi-year strategy and will continue to roll this out to more locations in the coming months to help our shoppers to buy more groceries for their families at a lower cost. A truck departed from Tewksbury, Massachusetts yesterday morning, loaded with relief supplies donated by Stop & Shop, including 3,024 gallons of water and 40 cases of baby wipes, to help residents impacted by Hurricane Helene. Thank you to our associates who quickly worked together to aid in delivering critical supplies and care for a community during a time of need.
