The STEM PUSH Network is a national alliance of precollege STEM programs, STEM and culturally responsive pedagogy experts, formal and informal education practitioners, college admissions professionals, the accreditation sector, and other higher education representatives who are (re)imagining equitable pathways to HigherEd. This NSF INCLUDES Alliance is funded by NSF Inclusion across the Nation of Communities of Learners of Underrepresented Discoverers in Engineering and Science (NSF INCLUDES), a comprehensive national initiative to enhance U.S. leadership in discoveries and innovations by focusing on diversity, inclusion and broadening participation in STEM at scale. It is also co-funded by the NSF Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) program and the Advancing Informal STEM Learning Program (AISL).

We were recently featured in STEM Learning Ecosystems weekly recap for our Frontiers publication "Adapting Improvement Science Tools and Routines to Build Racial Equity in Out-of-School Time STEM Spaces" In the study we examine how STEM PUSH has integrated equity into improvement science practices to broaden participation in STEM. Through professional development, "living" norms, and restructured inquiry cycles prioritizing marginalized voices, these embedded practices have shown improved equity practices and culture thus far. Check out the latest newsletter for the link to read the study. #STEM #Equity #BroadeningParticipation The NSF Eddie Bernice Johnson INCLUDES National Network

"Diversity is down at some of the nation’s most selective colleges this fall." While data from colleges and universities around the country varies, we expect that this trend might continue as time goes on. How are you supporting more equity and access to post-secondary STEM post-SCOTUS ruling?
Reports from some schools of a drop in Black student enrollment this fall are raising questions about #collegeaccess, equity, and the future of #diversity on campus, but some schools are not experiencing a decline. Ashley M. Pallie, #NACAC member and Caltech’s dean of admissions, says Caltech’s student makeup looks roughly the same as it did last year, but “sustaining that over the next five to 10 years is a pretty significant undertaking.” https://ow.ly/A07K50TnbCl
Over the last four years, STEM PUSH has made storytelling and strategic communications a key strategy to move systems change in college admissions. In our latest newsletter, we cover the power of strategic communications in sustaining, scaling, and growing our mission of ensuring opportunity for Black, Latine, and Indigenous students in STEM. #STEM #CollegeAccess #Storytelling #Impact
