We guide ministry leaders into healthy ministry.

About us

Standing Stone's 200 shepherds throughout the United States provide a full range of Biblical guidance at no cost to pastors and other ministry leaders through ongoing, trusted relationships. Ministry leaders and their spouses have been called to pastor and guide those in their churches and organizations, but they often lack that same pastoral guidance for themselves. Standing Stone exists to guide ministry leaders into healthy ministry. Our vision is to see healthy ministries in every city transforming their communities for Christ. We believe healthy ministry leaders guide healthy ministries, and healthy ministries help spread the good news of the Gospel to their neighborhoods, communities, and cities. If you're a ministry leader, we invite you to increase your health, navigate crises, and ward off disasters. Experience a trusted relationship with a Standing Stone shepherd today. Or, if you believe you're called to pastor other pastors and ministry leaders, if you've gained wisdom forged from your own trials in ministry, and if you're in a healthy place with your life, work, and family, we invite you to consider how Standing Stone might be the next step in your ministry career and calling.

  • Listen to one of our incredible Shepherds, Susan McCarthy, share the powerful restoration that takes place at Standing Stone retreats. Our retreats aren't about solving all your problems, but rather offering a space for reflection. It's an opportunity to recognize what’s working and make small adjustments—sometimes just a half-degree shift—that can make a lasting impact on your life and ministry. If you or a ministry leader could benefit from a Standing Stone retreat, learn more here:: https://lnkd.in/gFB3gGbX

  • Who pastors the pastor? When pastors face spiritual struggles or personal challenges within their church, where can they turn? Ministry leaders often carry the weight of their congregation’s needs but don’t always have a safe space to be vulnerable. If you know a pastor who could use the guidance of a seasoned ministry leader to discuss their challenges, send them our way! And if you know a seasoned ministry leader who feels called to mentor the next generation of pastors, we’d love to connect with them, too! https://lnkd.in/gKArEZnC

  • One of our incredible female shepherds reflects on her role at Standing Stone! This October, we're recognizing the importance of supporting women in ministry and leadership. Whether they lead directly or support those who do, their contributions are essential to the health of the church. At Standing Stone, our shepherds walk alongside these women, offering care, encouragement, and support that uplifts them in their unique leadership journeys. We're honored to be part of this important work.

  • It's October – Pastor Appreciation Month. True appreciation begins with understanding. Pastors carry unique burdens, offering care and comfort while quietly bearing their own struggles. Even the strongest leaders need support, a listening ear, and a safe place to be vulnerable. If you know a ministry couple who could benefit from seasoned leaders walking alongside them on their journey, consider sharing Standing Stone with them.

  • A Grammy-nominated artist, a beautiful Tennessee evening, and stories of hope that left a lasting impact! These were just a few highlights from our incredible vision-casting event in Franklin, TN this week. We gathered at The Harpeth Hotel to celebrate the transformational work God is doing through Standing Stone, right in the heart of an area where over 30 of our shepherds live and serve. We were honored to have Grammy-nominated artist Tim Timmons, co-writer of MercyMe's "Even If", perform and share his heart. As Tim beautifully put it, "Everywhere I go, pastors are soul tired." This is the very reason Standing Stone exists—to serve and restore these leaders. Inspiring testimonies from ministry leaders Shannon Reese and Corey Trimble reminded us of the life-changing impact Standing Stone has had on their ministries and personal journeys. Their stories reignite our passion and remind us that healthy leaders lead healthy congregations—all for the glory of God. We are grateful to all who partner with us to care for these frontline leaders. Together, we are making a difference in ministries across the country. Thank you for being a part of this mission!

  • What does a trusted relationship look like for a ministry leader? Meet Stephen and Ellie Courtney, two of our wonderful field shepherds that are passionate about providing a supportive environment where ministry leaders can be vulnerable, honest, and heard. Let’s build healthier, more resilient leaders together! If you or someone you know has ministry experience and a heart for supporting other leaders, we’d love to connect.
