At St. David’s Foundation, we prioritize collaboration—as one of our core values, we aim to encourage and fund collaborative initiatives in our community. We are still reflecting on last week’s stimulating conversation about community engagement in rural areas at the Grantmakers In Health conference. Our panel, including our Senior Program Officer Abena Asante and representatives from Missouri Foundation for Health and REACH Healthcare Foundation, discussed community engagement models, accessibility struggles, trust-based philanthropy, and more. Importantly, our community partner from Bastrop County, Krystal Grimes, MS, LPC, moderated the discussion and offered reflections related to her commitment to empowering community engagement.
