Happy 1-Year Anniversary, SSMC Member-Owners! As a member-owned cooperative, it is no coincidence that Select Sires Member Cooperative was officially established on October 1st, the first day of National Co-op Month! SSMC was founded on decades of cooperative experience and is driven by the cooperative spirit to champion our members’ and team’s future success. It has been a very busy and exciting year for our team, our board members and our member-owners alike as we have all worked together to merge four former co-ops into what SSMC is today. We are proud of the progress we have made, all while continuing to prioritize the voices of our member-owner dairy and beef producers of all types and sizes to guide us. Several of those voices are heard in this video. We hope their words resonate with you, their fellow member-owners, and that you are proud of who SSMC has become and who we will strive to be well into the future. Thank you for your continued business, guidance, patience and support in our first year. Last call for SSMC Board of Director ballot nominations! We are proud to be owned by cattle producers who have a voice in the direction and future of the cooperative. The board of directors is comprised on 31 member-owners, each representing a specific geographic area of SSMC’s service territory. Elections are conducted for approximately one-third of the board each year with winning candidates serving a three-year term. If you are interested in running for one of the elected positions, submit an application by October 1, 2024!
