Organizations have two options for recruitment: → Attract candidates through marketing (i.e. inbound) → Engage candidates who might not be looking (i.e. outbound) 📥 Inbound recruiting: as simple as creating a job post. More robust techniques include creating a desirable brand, maintaining a strong online presence, and nurturing candidate pools over long periods of time. Pros: Efforts scale across multiple jobs, more inclusive. Cons: Doesn't reach passive candidates, more applicants to screen. 🎯 Outbound recruiting: involves reaching out to candidates who are not actively looking but may be receptive to the right opportunity. Pros: Target candidates precisely, fewer applicants to screen. Cons: Less diverse applicant pool due to unconscious biases. So which strategy is best? Ideally, a combination of both. Unfortunately, resource-strapped organizations often prioritize effectiveness over inclusivity. Thankfully, this is no longer necessary. Ethically built recruiting technology can assist with the following: → Sourcing passive candidates → Syndicating job opportunities → Nurturing candidate pools → Screening applicants Not all recruiting technology is created equal. Its outputs should be transparent so that you understand how it works. It should also be used to assist and scale your efforts, not completely replace them. 🤔 I'd love to hear your thoughts: What does your recruitment strategy look like? What technology do you leverage for recruitment?
