🗳️ Acknowledge that anxiety and passions are at their peak during this time. Sometimes, people just want to feel seen! 🗳️ Consider sharing a message from company leadership about maintaining a culture of collaboration and mutual respect. 🗳️ Discourage unnecessary political banter. It’s not about censorship. It’s about avoiding negativity, polarization, or aggressive language. 🗳️ If it feels right to you, encourage your team to vote in November. No matter who they’re voting for, it’s a civil right we can’t take for granted. #workplacedynamics #mentalhealth

When you think of #PTSD, what do you imagine? For a lot of us, stereotypes come to mind: war veterans, flashbacks, violent outbursts. And while war veterans certainly experience PTSD, and flashbacks and violent outbursts can be symptoms, there’s a lot more to PTSD than what’s shown in the media. Neal Kennington, Director of Clinical Sales at Spring Health, sheds light on the complexities of PTSD ahead of #PTSDAwarenessDay on Thursday. He discusses life events that may lead to trauma as well as trauma responses that can significantly impact someone’s life for years. As Neal says, trauma is personal—and it can affect absolutely anyone. #mentalhealth #PTSD

According to research published in the journal Psychological Science and shared by The New York Times, loneliness follows a U-shaped curve. It peaks in young adulthood and again later in life. It’s concerning, especially as 20% of the world’s employees experience daily loneliness, according to Gallup’s 2024 State of the Workplace. With the average full-time employee spending more than 2,000 hours working every year, #workplaces can play a key role in encouraging connection and reducing #loneliness. Here are a few tips that even 100% remote organizations can consider: ✔️ Intentionally create frequent moments for collaboration and conversations on Zoom or in real life, such as regular check-ins, morning team meetings, or social hours.
✔️ Plan in-person gatherings like quarterly or bi-annual retreats where employees can get together and build valuable relationships.
✔️ Promote the creation of social clubs or employee resource groups. These might be formed around a shared hobby, background, or identity. Does your workplace foster #connection in a unique or interesting way? Share in the comments! ⤵️

Congratulations to our cofounder and CEO April Koh, who was just announced as a 2024 EY Entrepreneur of the Year for New York! 🌟 April shared Spring Health's founding story with the EY judges, from meeting her cofounder, Dr. Adam Chekroud, while they were both students at Yale University, to the early challenges convincing investors that mental health technology deserved a seat at the table. Since Spring's launch in 2016, there has been tremendous progress combating the stigma around #mentalhealth treatment. Our company's growth reflects a growing understanding that investing in mental health can be good for employees and good for the bottom line. That's why we have been so focused on proving the ROI of our services. As honored as April is to accept this recognition from EY, she and our entire team are mission-focused on growing the number of lives covered and people who get better faster on our platform. Thank you to the EY team for this recognition! #EOYUS #EOYNY
