Many people assume that cash is the only way to support your favorite causes. Thankfully, that's not the case. 💡 In fact, you can grow your charitable giving in many unique and extraordinary ways. For example, donating a life insurance policy is a great way to boost and leverage your giving. By using a donor advised fund (DAF), one life insurance contract can benefit multiple nonprofits. Donors can also name their DAF as the beneficiary of the policy. There are many benefits to donating life insurance. Our Nonprofit Strategies Manager Elizabeth McCray shares more about these benefits and how the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation can help guide you through the process of creating your charitable legacy. Land access is one of the biggest obstacles standing in the way of aspiring farmers. 💡 In fact, a 2022 study by the National Young Farmers Coalition found that 65% of Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) farmers said that it was exceptionally hard to access or afford land. But one Minnesota organization is hoping to change that. Sharing Our Roots aims to make land accessible for everyone, specifically immigrant, BIPOC and queer people. On what used to be classified as marginal land sits 163 acres of regenerative farmland in Northfield. 🌾 For the last eight years Sharing Our Roots has been a safe space for over 200 farmers in southeast Minnesota looking to raise, grow and sell livestock, botanicals, flowers and produce. In our latest episode of Corner Conversations, Chris Garner talks with Sharing Our Roots about how they are providing equitable access to land and how you can make a difference as well. ▶️ WATCH NOW → https://hubs.ly/Q02GdQTn0 #CornerConversations #RegenerativeAgriculture #EquitableFarming

📃 According to a study by U.S. Trust, high net worth clients say knowing that an advisor has personal philanthropic experience and knowledge would factor into who they choose to work with and how it would enhance the advice provided. Charitable planning conversations are more about personal goals than financial, and often pivot away from the usual tax and wealth planning focus and more toward personal connection and what drives individuals to give. 💡 In fact, that same study by U.S. Trust found that clients' top motivators for charitable giving are: 🔹Passion for a cause 🔹Desire to make a difference 🔹Desire to give back The ability to facilitate a philanthropic conversation is just like any other skill – it can be developed and successfully incorporated into any practice. At the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, our Gift Planners will work alongside you to help your clients achieve their charitable goals. 🌱 With that in mind, check out our helpful guide on talking to your clients about charitable giving. ➡️ https://hubs.ly/Q02DB9Kd0
