For example, donating a life insurance policy is a great way to boost and leverage your giving. By using a donor advised fund (DAF), one life insurance contract can benefit multiple nonprofits. Our Chief Investment Officer Shannon O'Leary has been announced as a member of the Diverse Investing Collective's Advisory Board! 🎉 The Diverse Investing Collective is focused on shifting the paradigm of who controls capital, with the goal of having 33% of assets managed by gender-diverse and racially-diverse fund management teams by 2033. We gathered with fundholders on the Mississippi River on Wednesday for our latest Giving Together event. ☀️⛴️ It was a beautiful evening and a wonderful opportunity to learn about access to childcare and economic development from our special guest speakers from CLUES, Montessori Center of Minnesota and YWCA Minneapolis.

Land access is one of the biggest obstacles standing in the way of aspiring farmers. 💡 In fact, a 2022 study by the National Young Farmers Coalition found that 65% of Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) farmers said that it was exceptionally hard to access or afford land. But one Minnesota organization is hoping to change that. Sharing Our Roots aims to make land accessible for everyone, specifically immigrant, BIPOC and queer people. On what used to be classified as marginal land sits 163 acres of regenerative farmland in Northfield. 🌾 For the last eight years Sharing Our Roots has been a safe space for over 200 farmers in southeast Minnesota looking to raise, grow and sell livestock, botanicals, flowers and produce.
