We’ve come to the end of our Fall 2024 CHRO Xcelerator Fellowship Leadership Retreat. Of course, this is just the beginning of a 12-month long journey of discovery, learning and sharing for our CHRO fellows. It’s been an exciting and active couple of days in Aspen, Colorado, and we’re so thankful to our partner, Aspen Institute Executive Leadership Seminars, who helped bring it all together and reflect on our purpose, values and individual leadership. Thank you to everyone who helped make this week possible. Here are some insights from this week: • It’s often more important to have great questions than great judgment. • Great HR teams know how to articulate and show their value to the business. • Driving and carrying corporate culture is an exercise in engaging hearts, minds and hands. • Squint to see better in the darkness; you may find the answers in the darker corners. • As a CHRO, you often need to jump into urgent situations; but “sometimes you just need to let them decant.” Learn more about our CHRO Xcelerator: https://bit.ly/3XVKbyC

Day one of the Fall 2024 CHRO Xcelerator Fellowship is in the books, and day two is underway! Yesterday our CHROs received a warm welcome from our cohort leader Brita Stevenson before diving into topics of critical importance to first-time CHROs. We also explored perennial questions about leadership and purpose with our partner Aspen Institute Executive Leadership Seminars. Here are some highlights from our first day: -Succession planning remains a top concern for CHROs, CEOs and their boards. -To really understand employee satisfaction and engagement, seek unheard voices; the loudest ones don’t paint the full picture. -There is value in setting aside the need to be liked as a C-Suite executive. -Culture and business outcomes are inextricably linked. -Multiplying leaders is the single greatest investment that a CHRO can make because it produces the greatest return.
