We take an enormous amount of pride in our commitment to Continuing Education! We know in order to maintain clinical excellence and stay innovative in the field, our clinicians need to expand their toolkit and stay up-to-date with the latest learnings. Thanks Clyde Staley, PT, DPT, CSCS for the shout-out! #physicaltherapy #continuingeducation #occupationaltherapy #careers #careergrowth
An underrated yet important consideration when choosing a job in Physical Therapy: Continuing Education Package Money, benefits, location, and the ability to treat the populations you’re interested in are important when choosing a job. But after spending some time in your career, those things matter less, and growth/development starts to matter more. A company that encourages continuing education and allows you to take the courses you want to take is a company you want to work for. You develop your skills, improve your confidence, feel happier/more supported, and create growth/advancement opportunities (which come with money/prestige/ideal patient populations). You’re also more engaged and less likely to burn out. When you’re looking for your next (or first) Physical Therapy job, consider what the company’s CEU budget is, what courses they offer internally, and what opportunities there are to implement what you learn in the classes you take. It matters more than you may realize. - PS, Spear Physical Therapy has one of the best continuing education packages for its employees. This is where I’ve completed a fellowship in Sports Physical Therapy in preparation for the SCS exam, and they have hosted and paid for some of the best Continuing Education courses I’ve ever taken. Message me if you’re interested in learning more.
