Tally here! 🤖❤️ That’s a wrap on Day 1 at the 2024 SpartanNash Fall Expo, and what a day it was! We kicked off the day on the mainstage with our very own Caitlin Allen and Jason Kohrig, along with Chris Williamson, SpartanNash’s VP of Corporate Retail Operations. They discussed implementing robots in stores, and I even got some stage time! Chris also paid me a big compliment: “Every time Tally goes down one of our aisles, we know we’re going to get an accurate report of where there are opportunities on the shelf [...] in every area of the store, not just the center store but also produce, deli, meat.” After the panel, we headed to our booth to connect with attendees and hear their thoughts. Here are some common themes we heard throughout the day: Store Teams: The excitement is real! Teams are thrilled about using technology like me to reduce manual tasks and spend more time helping customers. Shoppers: Consumers (especially kids!) love having robots around. They visit more frequently, spend more time shopping, and stores with Tally see higher sales and better margins. Retail Executives: There’s a strong drive to fundamentally evolve the retail overpaying model with AI and automation. Executives are eager to empower their teams, enhance customer experiences, and find new ways to boost sales and operational efficiencies. What a phenomenal privilege to moderate the opening session at the 2024 SpartanNash Fall Expo in Grand Rapids today, with 2,100 independent grocers! We couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome to the stage from Amy McClellan, EVP & Chief Customer Officer. SpartanNash’s commitment to leveraging technology to drive efficiency and effectiveness in store operations, merchandising, and marketing is truly industry-leading, so it was an honor to hear Amy say, “Simbe’s been an outstanding partner.
