SEC team members volunteered their Monday morning to prepare the Meherrin Volunteer Fire Department’s Independence Day fireworks show! The fireworks are set to kick off at 9:30PM on July 6th. Make sure to arrive early to find parking and a good spot to spectate from! SEC is proud to provide paid volunteer time to cooperative team members as they give back to their communities and serve their neighbors. This is just one more way the men and women at your electric cooperative live out cooperative principle #7: concern for community.

Southside Electric Cooperative is proud to support the education of future linemen through the Jeff Edward's Scholarship Fund. We've donated $5,000 to Southside Virginia Community College’s Power Line Worker program which will cover the tuition of a student for the upcoming semester. The next class starts their 11 weeks of training today; we're excited to see these future linemen begin their journey! #SEC #Scholarships

Members of the SEC team recently spent the day attending the VIRGINIA COOPERATIVE COUNCIL INC 62nd Annual Meeting, sharing in cooperative updates across the Commonwealth and engaging in conversation around keeping electricity both reliable and affordable.
